if the customer clicks on item they see the updated price immd for the coupon. so really it just saves one step.

Does your client that has better luck with coupons also run markdowns? I set up daily coupons stacked on my sale events and always have better luck than just running a sale event by itself.
Why would you do best offer on a markdown sale? Why not just have a bigger sale? People are gonna offer less than the sale price If you have best offer. where else are they gonna go but down further in price?
If you can't do simple math, you are not the buyer I am targeting.
I use a dollar figure for my coupons. ($5, $10, $20) Pretty easy to figure out the price.
Casey, your demonstration was on the desktop, not the app. On the app, which most buyers use, the coupon offer shows up prominently in the listing results, in red. The other results don't have the red font unless there is a special offer., like a coupon. When a buyer is scrolling down the results, the red coupon offer stands out.
$70 item, minus $10 coupon, equals $60.
Even a caveman can do it.
Look at CVS, with their yards long reciepts.
Ridiculous, but like a car wreck, you have to take a glance.
If the buyer isn't smart enough to figure the actual price out, what else in the listing could they not understand. (Condition, description, shipping, etc)
I am being hard here, but this is a business transaction.

I've always done both. Technsports says he always did both so I'm just following his advice. He was the #1 men's clothing seller for 15 years and made millions. For my Cyber Monday sale I took my coupon off since I've got a big discount.
I have to do more testing but so far my coupons do better than running a sale. Not sure why.

I just recently did a similar test and decided coupon codes are only good for repeat buyers and repeat store visitors. Sales Events are much more transparent. Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family!
Because coupon codes are automatically taken off at checkout, I don’t understand why EBay even has coupon codes. It used to be to drive traffic to your store to get a code, but now it’s basically a sale except it doesn’t show to buyers the same 🤷♂️ coupons seem pointless.

Boy let me tell you I made a huge mistake last night trying to raise my prices and then discounted 50% I saw the prices doubled but when I did the discount is changed my original price not the increase price so I was giving stuff away and lost so much money before I got the sale stopped. Good info. I only wish that eBay used the red font for sales like it does for coupons. That red color really stands out.
Markdown event/ sale event is much better than coupon. I would get people who didn’t know/understand how to use the coupon or it glitched.

Is ebay having a glitch? So, I know of at least 2 sellers that are having trouble sending offers and getting multiple offers by the same buyer. It's confusing right now and not sure if this is affecting sales. Thanks for all the great info btw. Happy Thanksgiving😊
