I do something very similar with a couple mini accordion files. I label by category and bring those with me every time I go. They’re small enough to throw in a bag, but still organized. I have a separate one labeled by store and to put any preplanned deal coupons in. Glad to see someone else seeing the method to my madness. 😂
I use a binder. You're right about it being time consuming! This looks quick and easy. I may try this box method. I do have a Rubbermaid coupon 🙂 Just have to find a box.

I have a mini in store accordion with coupons for the week too, but I’m still slogging the binder around. I’m a glutton for punishment!
