This previously sealed 7-Eleven CCTV footage, now being leaked from Mustafa’s case file, captures a moment just minutes before the vehicle collision that raises important questions.
The prosecution alleges that Mustafa intentionally crashed the vehicle only minutes later.
But the CCTV appears to show something very different.
Inside the store, Mustafa is seen purchasing a pack of Newport cigarettes and attempting to use a coupon to save $2. After the clerk scans the coupon and it is rejected, Mustafa retrieves his cell phone and searches for the coupon in an apparent effort to complete the discount before paying.
This sequence lasted long enough for Mustafa to continue trying to save $2 rather than simply paying full price and leaving.
If Mustafa had already decided to intentionally crash the vehicle just minutes later, why was he focused on saving $2 on a pack of cigarettes?
Why spend additional time retrieving a coupon from his phone if the prosecution’s theory is that he had already formed the intent to cause the collision?
Does this behavior appear consistent with someone carrying out a premeditated plan, or does it raise questions about that narrative?
