GameStop is about to get back on track to bankruptcy. Definitely starting to see a lot of moves that screw over their customers.
You think this is bad just wait until 2028 when Playstation stops making physical discs for Playstation games. Gamestop is about to be in a really bad spot. Gamestop business model is profit from used games. You can't resell a digital game code. Gamestop is going to be obsolete soon.
Ya I’m not re upping my membership either. That’s terrible and sad. Ya the state of gaming is getting scary. But I’ll probably still go in for the deals.
Yes gta 6 is a digital code even if you buy the 100 dollars premium which apprently you don't get some of the content unless you do but its a digital code bo disc. I personally don't play on buying it maybe on a sale but otherwise i just don't care about gta games to me there overrated.
The 5 dollars a month stopped being worth it when it expires every month so i stopped years ago.
I'll never understand people complaining about something over and over while still giving them their business. They have no incentive to change. Wow
I still shop at gamestop. I'm friends with the employees, and I use pre orders like lay a way. I'll go in each week and spread money between upcoming titles until paid off

They already stopped giving me points. I only purchase anything once every 6 months. However, over a year time it breaks down to $120 a month.
Summer time happened and may. So I decided to get pro and take my kids there. They wanted some modern couch co-ops, controllers and accessories. $680 on the trip. I didn’t get one point. Customer won’t help. If I order online and do store pickup. I will get my points. But store pickup often doesn’t work. Because 4 times out of 10 they can’t find it.
Covid killed the mom and pop shops. The stores I spent 20 years in. Great employees and owners.
The state of gaming is scary. It’s a bummer. I work lots of hours so my kids can game. Especially local multiplayer. My kids keep the neighborhood kids off Fortnite 😂

im ok with the rewards going away so long as they do more pro member specific trade bonus and sales. I can make far more money in trades and sales than I'll ever make in rewards. seems like we should be getting an extra pro member specific buy 2 get 1. the pro specific sales and bonus are still pretty worth it.specially if they do another 25 dollar added trade bonus that was super sweet. to be fair for us those bonuses where costing them more money than they where making off of us. between trade credit and rewards I havent spent a single dime at gamestop at all this year. at least when we bring trades they are getting something they can sell. sometimes I just use the rewards to get missing parts for my trades which means im turning rewards into credit lol
I would always go in and use my 5$ for a free pokemon pack. Then they upped the price on everything and i haven't stepped foot in gamestop for anything other than my gta 6 pre order and when they have pokemon promo cards
These days some bags of chips get close to $7. lol

Ironically I just recently got approved for the GameStop credit card which is supposed to give you extra points and etc. 😂
They had this program decades ago, but i got no points
Just when they add points, I dont need it anymore.
Then when I use my points, the coupons dont work on anything.
I love Gamestop forever because there's nothing better…but man oh man they did make it hard.

Stop going to GameStop. Their prices have been outrageous. They always have. (A prime example is me getting more memory for the Switch 1 for $70 at Walmart, while GameStop was selling some for $90.) The discontinuation of Rewards just makes it that much worse for you. Stop going there. I did
The ones who will suffer the worst are the associates that work there. Management demands you push the membership and they will base your hours on if you reached your quota the period before. I went to buy Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on the Switch 2 the other day. They didn’t even have it… my daughter bought a little toy and I gave my number for my membership and the guy told me it was expiring next week and asked would I want to renew it today and I said no bc I was thinking “you’re GameStop and you didn’t even have the GAME I came in for…no” I went to Walmart and bought the game. Glad I didn’t renew. I’ve been a pro member since 2009 when I worked at two different locations. End of an era… sad to see it. I was excited that they expanded the retro nationwide.
