Lots of people had questions for me earlier about this deal so I figured I would do a video. Basically Burger King is doing a DETOUR promo to get people from McDonalds to BK. Basically what you have to do is have the BK app and then go to McDonalds and when it sees you are within 600 feet, it will unlock a PENNY Whopper!
Since I was going to be at McDonalds anyway, I scanned their app for deals, grabbed me a Dollar Drink & Free Cookie (was in my app) then headed on to Burger King where I got my penny whopper.
Total spent on lunch today $1.01

If you download the steak n shake app you get a $2.99 credit. So basically anything under or at $2.99 is completely free. Free shake. Kids meal. Biscuit and gravy.. etc.. anything you find $2.99 and under and no credit card needed.
I actually got a large order of McDonald's fries before I got my whopper.

The app was a total complete fail for me and my wife. I went through a huge hastle we had to actually circle mcdonalds to get the reward to unlock. My wife's app wouldn't let her sign up at all. My app acted like it worked. I put my order in then it said I had to put my card in and wait till I got to Burger king. I had to drive across town to the other burger king because the one right across the street wasn't on the list to take online orders. It said click I am here when you get there. When I got there I click I am here and it failed to take my card. I tried another card and it wouldn't work either. No problems with either of my cards it was the app. So I wasted a lot of time and effort and had to pay regular price for a meal.
Horse meat.
Think about all the money Burger King is wasting to process one cent transaction . . . . . . Lol so yeah enjoy the offer even if you just want to give it away or throw it away no one cares lol

I question how effective this marketing campaign really is. BK is taking a big gamble. While I was at MD's I ended up spending money on fries, because I think their fries are superior. However, the Whopper beats anything on the MD's burger menu, so I headed over to BK for the 1 cent Whopper. This didn't work out so well for BK, who was probably hoping I'd spend money there, which I didn't. I wonder how many others did the same thing.
Well u need to put in ur information.. Ur credit card information before u get the penny whopper..and u have a hour to get ur whopper

Got mine. It was soooo tasty. Got the $1 crispy chicken sandwich the next day.

Only thing u have to be fine with is bk accessing all ur info on ur phone contact etc….
Do u actually have to buy something from McDonald's or physically just be in the parking lot for the burger King app to know your there

I go to Starbucks and get water for free, add flaver squirt ($3.00 but lasts over 100 uses) skip the cookies…so I paid lot cheaper.
