Weigh those bags of apples too if there is a scale near by. Sometimes you think you're buying 5lbs of apples but sometimes they weigh less. I usually weigh 2-3 bags and take the heaviest one. They all cost the same get the most for your money.

Kourtney With the kurls says:

Try the farmers market. You can buy fresh veggies and freeze them yourself.

Janie Estrada-Martinez says:

I freeze bananas that are getting to that “too ripe” stage and use them for smoothies and banana bread. BIG thing I did was take actual inventory of my freezer and pantry. It’s AMAZING what one has and doesn’t know/remember it. Helps with shopping too and restocking. Bought a small handheld sealer on Amazon and I am thrilled how easy it is to work at keeping my food fresh. I also divide up large items into meal portions, chicken breasts, tortillas, pork chops, etc. that come in a large package. Thank you to all that gave me new ideas. 😊

2 tips that really worked for me: 1. Take a specific amount of cash and buy only for that amount, you'll be amazed at how much you of the things you need you end up with & 2. Only buy things like detergent once they've completely run out as what's left in the bottle lasts much longer than you think it will

Your wonderful! Very specific helpful tips, much appreciated.

Liya Talks Money says:

Love the way you talk. Great tips too! I recently started to write down groceries and items in fridge/freezer and pantry, and start to plan dishes I could make from there. It’s amazing how many dishes I could make without shopping, and how little my groceries went bad. I don’t use the app because I have a diverse background of different cuisines (Chinese, Cantonese, Thai, American, French, Italian, Mexican, …not expert of each but you know, not too shabby either, 😛). Thanks!

Ruth Steiner says:

Another reason to feel/smell your produce is to check ripeness. Sometimes you need something ready to use that night, sometimes you may want it for the end of the week, one needs to be ripe and the other not quite. You can't put that in instacart. This is one reason why I prefer doing my own shopping. Save those instacart fees. Keep one eye on the register (Id have put those cherries back!) and another on the bagging. To many times I've found potatoes and bread in the same bag. I don't know about you but I don't like squished bread, fruit, broken eggs, etc. Its much easier to do that while checking out than have to go back.

Warren Johnson says:

What is the app for finding recipes using items already in the cupboards/refrigerator? I thought you called it super cut. I can't find that. Please help. Thanks!

Melissa Lee says:

I've been doing online grocery shopping with delivery for the last 6 months and only once have had an issue where someone gave us zucchini instead of cucumbers and I just let it go. We've had great success and much less impulsive buying this way.

victoria graham says:

I am a personal shopper for a grocery store and we are trained on how to pick the best produce and items for our customers that will last the longest and taste the best.

lucette reyes says:

I love the idea to take cash into the grocery store and not use the credit cards because I always go over my budget with credit cards. Thanks for the tip, love your videos.
