I spend 150 EUR/month on food, which is about 220 CAD or 165 USD. Eating plant-based helps a lot. I have to eat gluten-free and some of the stuff is expensive so the only gf stuff I buy is pasta and bought 15 kg for it to be worth it. The rest I eat, just the basics: vegetables, fruit (mostly frozen berries), oats, potatoes, rice… I am not deficient in anything and I am saving money <3

@beckyshell4649 says:

I don’t know if price matching is even a thing in the US now. I worked at Walmart for many years and they used to pride themselves as the lowest price and would price match no questions asked. Walmart got burned when Amazon had some food items for 2 cents through a outside seller .The trick was there was $10 shipping on a box of Mac and cheese.They have had problems with coupons and giftcard scams.

Please trim your bangs so we see EYES. ALSO if you lift the camera a bit we won't be looking up your nose. A slightly above eyeline camera angle will improve the view. Easy stuff, costs nothing

@soggybottomboys4302 says:

You have it backwards from the beginning by using the language "save money on groceries". This infers that it is your challenge to reduce, hack, or devise a path to find a reduction thus using your time that you will never get back to clip coupons or buy in bulk and pay storage fees. The foundations and fundamentals of eating healthy are the same way to not spend tons of money on consumables and that is to not purchase anything that has a bar code or packaging. Think about it almost everything in the produce section is in natures packaging and it does not need a bar code.

@GregariousAntithesis says:

I eat Paleo that is meat, fish, eggs and low starch/sugar vegetables and fruit and modest regular fruit.
Makes it pretty damn simple when you quit buying grain and processed garbage and are only buying largely only whole food.
I also get most of my meat as markdowns so i have a freezer packed with meat so most of my shopping is fresh vegetables and little bit of fruit on occasion to only eat after exercise.
The best thing you can do for your health is quit the grain, processed grain products, Sugar and excess oil. Its ok to indulge on occasion but not often. Also makes indulging more enjoyable when you do do it.

@kellykersten8828 says:

You need to hold the camera still. the way it is is nauseating.

@tanyaperrin8844 says:

I do pretty much all these things. The other thing that saves me a LOT of money is paying attention to the listed price of things. If the item scans in at a higher amount, which happens way more often than you would think, the item is free at any stores that participate in the scanning code of ethics (most large chains). I get an almost unbelievable amount of free food!

@CupcakeCottage says:

Make everything yourself and only go to the store every 3 or 4 weeks.

@mollyb7305 says:

I love the shopping list Idea! I need to make one of those. I’m also going to make a master list of things that I buy pretty much every week, so I don’t need as much brain power when I’m making my weekly list
