The RX 7600 just launched, it’s similar in performance to the RX 6650 XT while having newer technology, I would opt for the 7600 over a 6650 XT at a similar price.

The RTX 4070 is similar in performance to the RX 6800 XT, while having less VRAM, costing $100 more, and consuming less power. It does have NVidia features like DLSS and better Ray Tracing.

Joe Somebody says:

I've always found it more interesting to see what kind of performance can be squeezed out of old or modest hardware like this. As you said in the video, there are gobs of good games out there that would run great on this hardware. It's all about having the right mindset and expectations.

The GOD says:

I7 4790k with rx 580

Britec09 says:

The problem I have with these old systems is people selling these old parts for as much as it would cost to build something new. Well in the UK they are.

Matlockization says:

No one is doing a 4 core review, except you.

Raphael Viray says:

what gpu do you recommend for r5 5600? Rx 6600 or rx 6600 xt

Pedro M says:

It's so refreshing to watch a youtuber who can articulate so well without relying on heavily edited footage

GPEART1 says:

I just upgraded my nephews and a friends i5 6500 PC's to the i7 6700. That alone kicks things along a bit, smoother in games, these i7 6700 are pretty cheap to buy, well worth it.

Mark H says:

I retired my 4th gen 4 core 4 thread Intel based system as a gaming rig in early 2021 because of micro stutters in games, particularly from Ubisoft. Even on a fresh install of Windows with all current drivers. But it was a good run.

Sean H says:

Lovely video!

Angelic Construction says:

you should of just done a i7 4790 which still smokes most modern games

Joey Van Veen says:

90 fps in mw2?…how? whats wrong with my i5 6600k? im getting roughly 50fps with a gtx1080ti

RealWelder says:

About six months ago I bought a Dell Precision 3420 tower with an i7 6700k in it. I threw a 6650xt in it and it played anything I threw at it. Now I've built my own pc and it is sort of sitting around, but still very usuable setup for cheap.

zdspider says:

25:16 Apparently you're not supposed to pair an RX 7600 with a PCI-Express 3.0 motherboard, because that card has 8x lanes, so on 3.0 it performs very poorly. It's better to go with an RX 6700 (which has 16x). Otherwise you're losing up to 56% performance in Spider-Man, and in other games like 9%. That was the conclusion in: "RX 7600 – PCIe 3 vs PCIe 4 | Does it Bottleneck? 1080P, 1440P & 4K Benchmarks".

zdspider says:

Which GPU would you pair with an i7 6700k? It's a Skylake CPU with 4c/8t, 4.0GHz stock that can go up to 4.4 or even 4.6 if you won the silicon lottery.

Luis Badano says:

I was hoping to see PUBG because i'm struggling with my i5-6500 and GTX 1060. Used to run just fine, however it is very CPU bound and not even with process lasso I was able to make it smooth in MP 🙁 The game ran well enough until another player rendered in and my frames just dropped.

misterPAINMAKER says:

Can you also do 6 cores fo gaming in 2023? Maybe with a Intel® Core™ i5-9600

misterPAINMAKER says:

You are very likeable!

magburner says:

You could also use the computer as a Linux daily driver / home server. I am using a former 2600k Sandybridge gaming rig for just such a purpose.

Victor Henostroza says:

I recently upgraded from ryzen 3 3300x to ryzen 7 5800x3d. My 8 years old daughter will get her first pc for gaming with that procesor a cheap b550 and that rx 6600.

Road_Dog says:

I like the reviews of older systems. Especially useful for budget builds. I'm currently running an i7-4790 with a 1080 TI and 32 GB of DDR3 RAM. All were pretty cheap when I was able to get them, and the system runs everything I play. I'll probably upgrade in the next year, but nothing "new ".

Spicy Tamale says:

i know tech dont like 4 cores lol

Adeboye Grillo says:

I am surprised that Hitman 3 can't run fine at ultra settings using an i5 6500. I have run it on ultra with my i5 7400 GTX 1080 PC. Yes, I know it's odd to pair those 2 but I run games on Very High and Ultra @1080p.

Felzora says:

Meanwhile my first gen i7 920 is overclocked to 4.2GHz and still doing fine, xD Need to find a proper gpu for it though, slapped the original GTX 275 back in it..
Edit: I can't believe Republic Commando made it's way here, lmao. It was a truly great game, really happy it was brought to PC, I like to go back to it now and then!

Alec Vero says:

I have a Ryzen 5 3600 with me already, I am choosing between 6600, 6600XT and 6750 XT.

I could stretch my budget a bit to 6750XT (This is the only AMD 12GB in our market at a reasonable price) to future proof myself.

Is this okay or am I pushing my Cpu too much ?
