We’ve found free food for seniors through seven different programs and agencies. Most of these programs are exclusively for seniors, so don’t miss this list!

I’m Nicole from Low Income Relief, where we help millions of low income seniors save money and get free stuff.

First, SNAP.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as food stamps, provides a flat amount of money that can be used to buy free food for seniors and people of all ages! The money is transferred to an EBT card, which can be used like a debit card to purchase eligible items from regular grocery stores. The average payout for this program is over $100 per person per month, which can make a big difference for low income seniors.

2 – USDA Commodities.

The USDA Commodity Supplemental Food Program serves low income seniors who are at least 60 years old. This program provides nutritious food, including a variety of fruit, juice, vegetables, milk, cheese, grains and protein, including plant-based protein. The foods are distributed every month to eligible seniors. To apply, you will need to contact your State Distributing Agency. Jeanie Poggenpohl says:

Is there really a program to get free windows and solar I need to find them without paying a lot of money
Thank you

Cris McDonough says:

Just a word about the commodity boxes. There are only so many of these "senior boxes" per county. So if you are interested in receiving this box sign up as soon as possible. There is a waiting list; however, you usually don't move up the waiting list until someone on the list moves or passes away. They are usually distributed thru your local food pantry. The sign ups used to be in April, but I don't know if that has changed or not. Check to be sure. This box would be in addition to your regular monthly food box.

Cathleen Suan says:

I'm 60; years cold and can only get $20; in stamps

S R says:

USDA Commodoties is only canned vegetables and fruits, juice, cereal, canned meat, peanut butter and pasta. Much of it is low quality and you get the same food over and over. No variety. You will love this program if you like canned spinach and canned peas. No fresh anything.

Karen Johnson says:

Senior centers – meals on wheels – very toxic food. Unfortunately knowledge of health is poor.

Karen Johnson says:

Farmers mkt coupons are fabulous. We can get healthy non-toxic produce thru this program. Please increase to more than $30 per summer. Love it. Other programs such as food lines with nonorganic unhealthy food are just helping us get to our grave quicker. Farmers market coupons are really something worth while.

Karen Johnson says:

Why is EBT only $20 in Iowa for seniors?

mary ann gallentine says:

they cook beetter than I do and their meals are fartastix

Lisa Lee says:

Hi I found your video great👍😀 I'm 56 and Im in California. I'm a property manager who has been gathering food and putting boxes together for 15 years. Seniors really struggle. I have food Angels that donate…Thank God 🙏 I have been witness to some of these programs. I loved meals on wheels for them. They have stopped it here. I have seen the food mailed to seniors…sadly that was disappointing. I'm trying to do more here for them. I understand their needs…rice and pasta and beans isn't it 😀 👎 Fresh fruit, low salt crackers and snacks and soups. Fresh bread etc…

Patricia Powell says:

The immigrants coming into this country get treated better than the seniors who have paid into S.S. All their lives.
