Peoria Sears is still open in Illinois…but…it's closing at the first of the year too.

Eddie W says:

Only things Ive ever seen at ok prices were things out of season and open items. Picked up all the belts and oil for the snow blower and another roof rake in summer closings. Id imagine lawn mowers, trimmers etc would be some deals later on . Never seen clothing or tool deals ever.

Wow there is a sears my state hasnt had any sears for almost 2 years now

I hate to see Sears fold up but it has been going down the toilet for years. When the local Sears closed, they followed the same pattern as in yours. They jacked up all the prices and then showed the "discount" price next to the items. I didn't buy a thing. No bargains even when going out of business. The local Kmart (subsidiary of Sears) did exactly the same thing. Can't believe there were fools who cleaned out the shelves when they "dropped the prices" to only 25% off.

The sears in my town closed like 5-10 years ago

I understand your frustration but I don’t really think you had to make this video.

I don’t really care

Fred Smith says:

Sears is not actually selling the items in store it is a liquidation company setting the prices. I watched people buy stuff up at much higher prices than what they could get it for online when my local Sears closed. There was a glitch for a while that let you scan the item in the store, buy online at the online price and provided you free shipping no matter what the price/total. I believed Sears fixed that but I took advantage of that for several weeks. Eventually there will be a plateau where the in store discount will beat the online price for some items. The best thing to do is negotiate with a manger for bulk deals which the liquidation company will do to clear items out. I ddi that and also purchased a bunch of Craftsman banners and signs for cheap.

Jed Mook says:

Man I’ll tell you what they didn’t have any good deals when my store was closing besides a couple items that were out of the package. They still wanted top dollar for all the boxes.

Peter Sachs says:

The liquidators have bought out these stores and trust me when I say they are not nice people. All sales final and you better 100% know exactly what you are buying. I actually got stopped once by a manager saying I paid too little on my receipt. They would not let me leave the store and I did not have time to hassle with the police since my friend was waiting with his pickup truck so I was forced to return the product or pay a higher amount.

Rick Roberts says:

They closed the Stratford Sears and when i went it looked similar to yours but they jacked prices up and idiots where buying it up. I have a feeling they didnt sell all the inventory and shuffled it to another open Sears.

Dan H says:

You have to wait till the last possible moment for the deals but by then all the good stuff is gone

Chaka Gillis says:

Shopko was the same way when they close their doors last year. They jacked the prices up big time for their suppos'd clearance sales.

bird718 says:

when my local sears went out they jacked up prices to full MSRP and then gave discounts that was way more expensive than the other sears in the next county.

Ammo Giant says:

Sears…..joke never a clearance at the stores when they say it. Last time they had a going out of business sale in my area I went and checked it out. Guess what no sale. I went to the long line at the registers and asked out loud was this really a going out of business sale and the clerk said yes and I said out loud why is it so much cheaper online. The clerk looked so puzzled. Even the customers in line started to look on there phones lmao. Thanks for all you do struggleville 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Mike Crowley says:

I went to a K-Mart closing store about a year ago, same story.
