I have never experienced anything that horrible . I have had my fair share over the years of very rude , impatient cashiers that didnt want to accept my paper coupons . I would always ask for a manager because usually they dont know the coupon policys or they just dont want to accept them for whatever reason. Its very frustrating when it does happen it can just ruin your day. Couponing is fun for me and I will continue doing even after experiencing all that it just happens some times . Thanks for sharing.

Yes, Nick, I also am a “Can I speak to the manager” couponer. I take it up to the next level. Hopefully, the manager will be a caring, nonjudgmental person who listens to my complaint. 😊

Here’s a happy checkout story: Wednesday I had a Godzilla cart to check out. I know that this is going to be aggravating for the cashier, for the bagger and for others in line. First, I tried to let the elderly man behind me go ahead. He was so polite and sweet but chose not to skip ahead but instead engage in conversation. Once all my purchases were rang I then swiped my Kroger card because I like to watch the total drop. As all the discounts and coupons were coming off my cashier started cheering, “Go, go”. My bagger had to use a second cart to hold everything once it was bagged and without any hesitations helped me to my car and helped unload. On the way out the door what I assume to be a floor manager grabbed a bouquet of roses from a mark down cart and said this is free for you today. All in all it was lovely. No chips were harmed, no frozen chicken flew and no boxer stance was required.😂

Thanks for sharing Nick. This incident is startling. I have gone to this Kroger but it isn't my regular store. I can hardly imagine this happening at that store. It must have been a bad day for both cashier and customer. Admittedly apparently the cashier was very aggressive and should be removed. I have had cashiers argue. I just say ok. Ring out my order and walk right over to customer service where they fix it. I think everyone is so stressed with what is going on in their lives and the world that they no longer have a modicum of patience for anything.

I had something like this happen at Walmart. The woman in front of me had a P&G rebate check that she wanted to use to pay for some of her groceries. It didn't work at the register and the cashier asked a manager foe help. This manager accused this poor girl of stealing. When she tried to explain what the check was, the manager then accused her of bring rude. Then tge manager went to a different register all the while yelling at this poor girl. I was mortified and it wasn't even me bring yelled at. I think it eventually got settled. I called and filed a complaint against the manager. She walked over with a chip on her shoulder. She should have had someone else take care of it. I was embarrassed for that young girl.

I had one cashier at Krogers that really had an issue with coupons, she now works in the liquor department so I don't have to deal with her. But everyone else is fantastic really nice and friendly, when I have a problem the override the issue without a second look.
