First it was shoplifting, then ticket-switching. Now it’s bar
code fraud. Just how difficult is it to fake up a UPC label that
reports a lower price? Not that hard, it turns out — but getting away
with it is another story. CNET’s Jonas Tichenor reports.
At minimum wage, employees don't care , pay them a living wage, and incentives for catching thieves and fraudsters !!
Couldn't somebody cut barcode off things and tape it to the box?
Here’s an idea:
Steal a grocery scanner and scan items and then walk out of the store
I used to work for targets and theft prevention don't let them lie to you and tell you that it's 35 billion dollars that they all lost at the end of the year whatever was reported stolen they get full value from the insurance they're lying to you if they keep the item there and item that was $100 within a few months will drop down to 10 or $15 so when someone steals from them and gets away with it guess what it's turned into the end of the year for the insurance and like I said they get full value you really think they're losing money don't be dumb they're not because they sure the hell are not dumb I'm just saying
Customer service is gone so theft is up. Too bad.
hack into the store computers
They should offer there employees a $100 bonus if they can catch a fake bar code on the spot. It would give them incentives to catch fraud.
How to do this folks Easy to do this rip off the barcode off cheap item with similar name i.e. Lego then use flat bed scanner scan the item onto pc then get a dymo label printer and print off the new label go into shop stick on top of expensive item goto checkout find someone young and dumb not the older ones who worked there all there life they will spot it
The baggage areas weigh your items.
Chiquita Laptop? Hmm didnt know they expanded? Welp! Thats free enterprise! Have a nice day sir
