Question:
If I download a coupon to my card and let's say it's for a box of cereal. **and the coupon was a dollar off.
**but I buy 4 boxes of cereal.
could I technically use the coupon on my card for one box of cereal and still have 3 Mfq that I could use towards the three other cereal boxes?? If, you respond to my question I would like to thank you in advance.

I also watch your video on CBS or was it Walgreens or maybe it was both. I love how you walk through everything and explain. I think it's beautiful, helpful and easy to understand.

When I buy on the mega event that it's 4 items for the price 1.99 do I have to buy 4 on 4 items to get the discount ? Like if I buy 11 items I just get the sale price only on 8 items or on all items? Hope u can reply back. Thank you

Great tips! On the gift cards though, doesn't it cost about $3.50 to activate the card? Is it worth it still to buy gift cards to get double or triple gas points?

Other savings and things to know when shopping at Kroger:

I almost always buy gas at Kroger, where they tend to have among the best prices in the area anyway, even before any discounts. Have to be strategic, as there isn't a store with gasoline very near me, but there are a couple reasonably close, and it's not unusual for me to need to go right by them anyway, on the way to something else. So I have to plan ahead, as I don't want to be driving some distance, just to save a few cents or two or three dollars. Some months, I have close to a dollar off per gallon, so it is a big incentive.

Like most stores in this area (N. TX), Kroger has a program to donate percentages of shoppers' spending to designated non-profits. It won't change anything about what you pay, but will do the charity/non-profit you choose some good. Kroger's program is called Community Rewards, and you can find out about it and sign up on Kroger.com. Also, if they don't have the organization listed, check with that organization to get their participant number, or encourage them to sign up for the program.

Kroger has generally good quality in their house brand products. I've found some exceptions, where I'll buy a name brand instead, such as with V-8 vegetable juice, but much of the time I like Kroger's brand item just as much. For instance, re. Nutella, I find Kroger's hazelnut spread just as good as Nutella's, plus Kroger brand offers crunchy as well as smooth. Their natural peanut butter (nothing but peanuts and a very little bit of salt — no other junk in it) is quite good. I really like their yogurts. Pasta sauce is pretty good too, unlike, for example, Albertsons, which has pasta sauce runnier than ketchup. Kroger has some good Private Selection packaged produce, like their artisanal greens. It's a shame that they stopped having real, brewed soy sauce under their label, and only have the fake kind, so that's not a keeper. There are many good Kroger items in health and beauty. I stocked up on sun screens, marked down as manager's specials, on top of the Kroger prices, much lower than the name brand products they're comparable to.

For senior citizens, they offer 10% off the prices on any Kroger brand items. Not a huge difference, but it can add up, especially with the already lower house brand price.

They send me very worthwhile coupons now and then, in the mail, that are tailored for me, based on my purchases.

In this area, the managers' specials vary quite a bit, from store to store, including meat, but also things from every department. My neighborhood store tends not to have much at all of interest, but some other Krogers I go to have some excellent marked down specials. Also, if it happens to be a Kroger brand on manager's special, the 10% senior discount still applies (at least, at the stores I've bought at).

I try to always buy gift cards for places I know I'll be buying from anyway, especially during 4x gas points time. So, Amazon, Ebay, Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, some of the restaurants, etc., are all candidates.

I love this: "I don't touch toothpaste unless it's free."

I'm slowly moving towards homemade toothpaste, or just baking soda, then using mouthwash, especially since finding out Crest puts plastic micro-beads in some of their pastes~bad for the environment and for gums and teeth. I also don't use almost any commercial housecleaning products anymore, other than those I'm using up, but won't buy again. Baking soda, vinegar, certain kinds of oil, citrus cleaner, sometimes alcohol, sometimes ammonia, sometimes bleach ~ these work better anyway, cost much less, and don't contain things like "anti-bacterial" agents, which only help the bacteria become more resistant, causing widespread trouble.

Thank you! I work at a kroger, and i wanted to know how the coupons worked to avoid confrontation when at work. Thanks for this video. it's very helpful

Mileadus says:

Yes, for every dollar you spend at Kroger's you get 1 point, and it takes 100 points to do the discount.
and it's ten cents off a gallon of gas at participating gas stations such as Shell (which is honestly some REALLY good gas; when you can go 90 miles on a 1/4 of a tank in an older SUV, thats some good gas).

** BUT what you DON'T know, is that you have an ENTIRE month to get that 100points.

In Nashville, TN and a few other counties around here they still double up to .50 cents. Its hard not to take advantage of certain items because I know that other stores dont do this. Some of the other stores here also take competitor coupons which I can match with sales AND Manufacturer coupons. Makes for great sales if you can find them. Its kinda pricey here and Im still learning.

For shoppers at Kroger stores nationwide — their seafood purchases are likely linked to ocean destruction.
Tell Kroger to stop its damaging seafood policies that support destructive fishing & harm marine species.

Seafood at Kroger is sourced from some of the most destructive fisheries in the world — many that rely on gruesome fishing methods that indiscriminately injure and kill other marine species, like sharks, turtles, and dolphins. These unintended victims — called bycatch — are just thrown back into the sea dead or dying.
Kroger has said that they are committed to seafood sustainability — even going as far to put a sustainability video online — but our independent research has shown the opposite. Kroger is the worst Red List offender out of the top 26 major grocery stores nationwide, selling 18 threatened Red List seafood species. It’s inexcusable.

Kroger is one of the largest grocery chains in North America and is growing every day. It already has more than 2,400 stores in 34 states. Kroger also operates nationwide under well-known “banner” brands like Dillons, Smith’s, Food 4 Less, and Ralphs — and even the recently-purchased Harris Teeter.

Kroger is such a large seafood buyer that its leadership for our oceans could cause the entire industry to change. And rivals like Whole Foods and Safeway have already proven that sustainable policies that protect our oceans are not only good for marine life — it’s also smart business.

But for Kroger to reverse its path of ocean destruction, we’ll need consumers like you to speak up. Urge Kroger to implement sustainable seafood purchasing policies, stop selling Red List seafood, and provide alternatives to destructively fished products.
