I wish vs would do price adjustments like macys where if the item is cheaper with a new deal, they price adjustment.
but alas, i return and rebuy. I literally hate how it goes 25% off then extra 30% off and then extra 25% off… and now extra 40%

so in california, they let you keep all of the free items. If you bring the item, they go "we don't want it, keep it." for stores around me
in texas, they refuse to return items without the free item. and they glare at you at certain stores when you want to do a return or price adjustment of even exchange.
i do a bunch of even exchanges because I can never makeup my mind.
