What has been your experience with using the CVS issued % off coupons? My results varied each time I used them.

Is it worth it to use them one of my subscribers asked? I think so because whatever the discount, its still less that amount out of your pocket, but it does make it difficult to accurately put your transactions together beforehand because you can’t 100% know how much will be deducted. If you want to get the full 25% off use it on something like your Sunday newspapers for coupons, milk or anything else thats not “on sale or part of a promotion” that you dont use coupons or ecbs to pay for. 🙂

What are your thoughts?

It seems to be exactly as IslandCouponGal said. I calculated the total of items in your first receipt and the 25% appears that it should have been $2.85 for a total of $11.80(I think I read all the numbers correctly). Now when I take the CVS Coupons off which total $8.00 that left a total of $3.80 and 25% of that is $0.95. So that's probably it but it's crazy and they should explain that better because I know it has totally thrown me off in the past as well.

true cvs coupons, which includes 4/20, green bag tag, beauty bucks, expired cvs coupon, and forced printed ecbs reduces the % discount. MQ ( appears as "coupon" in your receipt) and redbox coupons for $off specific product ( "cvs mfr") does not .. but your first receipt doesnt seem to apply this. its weird. if you figure everything out, it'll be a great help for everyone..

I think I'm going to stick to using my % off coupons on my Sunday papers I buy every Sunday anyway.. Thanks for stopping

foodandfashioncents says:

Yes me too. I will definitely post another video at that time. Thanks for stopping by.

foodandfashioncents says:

Yes me too. I can't wait to hear what there response is. I was told that on CVS' website there an explanation as to how the % off coupons are processed but the cust rep couldnt tell me where. Take Care

coupon zila says:

The last time I used one my subtotal was down to $20 before tax after coupons. I paid with $20 worth of ecbs and it went up a dollar or so. Now I'm thinking next time I use a % off coupon I'll pay cash then go back and use ecbs and get the cash back.

Look forward to hearing what CVS corp says! Thanks for looking into this to get to the bottom of it! 🙂

I wish all these stores could be on the same page.

foodandfashioncents says:

let me correct this before it goes in a direction it shouldnt
because I now some people love to create drama and this is a Drama FREE zone…I stated your explanation kinda sorta made sense meaning yours did but their explanation of how the % off coupon is applied doesnt make sense of any kind especially business sense/cents. Thanks Again

foodandfashioncents says:

You are welcome and hopefully someone with a simple explanation of how the coupon is deducted will call me back. I will let you guys know my findings. Take Care

I totally agree as stated in a reply to islandcoupongal their system is just too difficult to figure out and from what I gathered out of the 6 or so cashiers and managers as well as customer service that Ive asked over the last few weeks they couldnt clearly explain to me either how its calculated.. I absolutely love shopping at CVS but really ?! lol

foodandfashioncents says:

Hmm it seems that u need to be both a mathematician to figure this out as well as a mind reader of those who created this system because where is this in writing? How are shoppers to know what sysem they are using? Dont get me wrong I love CVS but really I have to go thru all of this to figure out what my out of pocket is & yes like you stated its difficult to predict exactly what the % off Qpon applies to so yes your explanation kinda sort makes sense bc it really doesnt make business sense.

foodandfashioncents says:

Part 2. Also as stated in the video if this is the policy it doesnt work all the time as shown in my 2nd receipt and also in a receipt not shown the % off was taken off 1 maybelline baby lips and not the other which were the same exact price and both were part of an ECB deal and I used the same exact 2 manuf coupons and 2 same ecbs for the same denomination to pay for the transaction. Nonetheless, thanks for your help.

IslandCouponGal says:

Ok here goes ;-). For each dollar of "cvs coupons" you use, it reduces the total amount that the % off Q applies to by that dollar. "cvs mfc coupons" will not reduce the amount, nor will reg MQ. The "Cvs coupons" include $4/20s & Beauty Bucks; however, some ecbs & redbox Qs fall under either/or category so as far as they go, until they are scanned & it's determined which one they are ("cvs" or "cvs manf") its difficult to predict exactly what the % off Q will apply to. Does that make any sense?
