Here is our review of the best online discount stock brokers.

If you are in the market for a broker, or just want to see how yours stacks up against the rest, you will enjoy this video.

My team reviewed all the major discount stock brokers, and came up with various criteria to rank each one.

Here is what my team did for this broker report – I say “my team,” because I actually was not personally involved in this research.

Before we dive in, I always like to thank you guys for your support. You are awesome, and we are committed to helping you profit from penny stocks. That is what this YT channel is all about, so please subscribe, and tell 75 others to exactly the same, then report back to me!

So anyway, my team would phone the discount brokers and they pretended to be inexperienced investors. They called back later under different cover, and were very clear that they were from PeterLeeds.com, and needed to ask specific questions for our report.

Then, they did the same thing with emails – they pretended to be a new investor asking beginner-level questions, and a few days later they emailed again under different names, from PeterLeeds.com, asking for very specific comments and about various policies.

Judge for yourself – Questrade exited my same day trade WITHOUT calling me saying it was going against me! Questrade created a HUGE 14K USD loss for me a couple of hours after the position was filled. I had to call them! Now they closed my TFSA to cover that loss. Will YOU trade with Questrade?! You have to decide. I will take my business & hard earned $ where I am appreciated.

Peter thanks for all of the great information and dedication! Do you still recommend Lowtrades.com as a discount broker even though they are now part of Just2Trade.com? I read some unfavorable information concerning the merger. Do you have another recommendation? Thanks again!

Hi Peter,

I've been researching penny stocks for the past 3 months or so. Although I'm still a fair way from actually investing in them I've been trying to identify a broker I can go through when I do decide to trade. My question is would you be able to help me identify a broker that allows me to trade from New Zealand? Or how am I able to find out if brokers operate in certain countries?

Also thank you for your with your very informative videos! I've bought your book and have yet to read it but I bet it will be greatly helpful, thanks again!

I am a newbie, been looking and studying the stock market for 6 month or so. I live in Canada and I have been using Questrade as platform. I'm still only using the practice account until I am ready to use real money. Questrade been around for 6-8 years. Have you heard of them ? their platform is very user friendly and their fees seems very reasonable. Nobody ever talks about it and thats why I am intrigue .

I have both TD Ameritrade think or swim platform and OptionsHouse by E-Trade. The OptionsHouse seems to be a little easier to use and offers both real & paper trading on the same screen. To be honest I'm still trying to learn these two platforms. I'm going to paper trade for a few more months, then it's on. Not going in BIG at first. I live by a simple philosophy: Aim small, Miss small.

Hi Peter, I'm from the UK, can you recommend a good broker to get me started here? I have about 500 and really need one that doesn't charge those extra commissions for penny stock trading if poss. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you, i am enjoying your channel.

WINGED SOUL says:

I am using Questrade. It is not bad for now. I am on practice account yet. Peter which one do you like to use?

M Rod says:

I use td ameritrade for its think or swim platform. if you trade options and are looking for a discount I've heard great things about optionshouse. penny stocks robinhood would probably be your best bet if you don't care about all the bells and whistles. 100 percent free. however you'd have to do your technical analysis elsewhere.

tritosac says:

Peter, I have been with Scottrade since 2012. They restrict purchase of certain penny stocks. It seems as if they arbitrarily choose certain ones over others. For instance I had no problem purchasing UBQU which is well under a penny/share but I cannot purchase PHOT which has hovered around 1.5 cents/share. Also I am extremely disappointed that I cannot set stop loss orders on the penny stocks I hold. I have complained about the other issue regarding restriction of certain stocks and have only been given the answer: "for certain stocks it actually cost more to sell than the stock is worth". They try to appease my disappointment by giving me 20 free trades but these free trades can only be used for NASDAQ & NYSE stocks. I have not gotten a response to my latest complaint about not being able to set stop loss orders. I think it is time to move but I am worried it will be a pain in the you know what to do so. Thanks for your video.

Would you be able to explain what a 1Y target is under a stock quote? Is that number put out by the company or analysts?
