The South Korean government is switching its discount coupons for dining out so they can be used for food deliveries.
Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki said at a ministerial meeting on Thursday that the decision follows the recent heightening of the social distancing measures to level two.
He added that the coupons will be switched back when social distancing measures are eased.
The minister also said the coupons can also be used on food delivery apps.
To boost retail spending in general, he said, the government's shopping event 'Christmas Market' will be held online.
