Remember that the sign-up bonus from freedom is real money. You don't save $150 by get the freedom. Instead, you earn $150 that you can spend on anything. This is the opportunity cost of purchasing the laptop. Also if you can spend the $1500 on paypal/grocery store in three months, then there is another opportunity cost of using that 1500 on the laptop. Just keep that in mind when you are doing the math.
