Here was my trip today to my local Dollar General Market strore which is like a regular Dollar General combined with a Dollar General Grocery store. Take a peak at my haul to see if there is anything there you might like to pick up 🙂

There were some good deals on:

1. OnCore Salisbury steaks (on sale for $2 each for the family size entrees with a $1 off 2 coupon on top of that = $1.50 each :),

2. Stouffers frozen entrees on sale for $2 with $1 coupon off 2 thus $1.50 each

3. Progresso Soups on sale for $1.50 each with coupons for either 50 cents off 2 or 25 cents off 1 – thus $1.25 each

4. Cheese Itz crackers on sale for $2 with $1 off 2 = $1.50 each
🙂
5. Also on sale 10 pounds of potatoes for $1.75 ( no coupons)

Most coupons came from recent Sunday inserts plus coupons.com

Dollar General Coupon Policy ( From their website)

Updated 4/10/12

Dollar General is pleased to accept Manufacturer’s Coupons and Dollar General Store Coupons at any of our more than 10,000 stores. These coupons come from a variety of sources, including, but not limited to, newspapers, magazines, print-at-home (internet), direct mail, product packaging, and in-store coupon boxes.

Our coupon requirements are as follows:

Dollar General accepts Manufacturer’s and Dollar General issued coupons (Including internet coupons) that meet these requirements:
1.Coupons must be original (no photocopies)
2.Coupons must have a scan-able barcode or valid promotion code
3.Coupons must have a printed expiration date
4.Coupons can be redeemed only for items sold at Dollar General, and can be redeemed only for the exact same item (package weight, size, etc.)
5.Coupons for free items are only accepted if a purchase is required to get one free
6.Maximum of two coupons per item. One coupon must be a Manufacturer’s Coupon and the second coupon must be a Dollar General Coupon as long as neither coupon states that it is not valid with other coupons

Dollar General will NOT accept coupons that:
1.Are from other retailers
2.Are expired
3.Are internet coupons without a scan-able barcode and/or promotion code
4.Contain the combination of an invalid barcode that won’t scan and promotion code that the register will not accept
5.Are for “free” items, unless a purchase is required (i.e. Buy one get one free is acceptable)
6.Do not have a “remit to:” address on the coupon

In addition:”Cash Back” will not be issued if the value of the coupon is greater than the purchase price of the item.

Thanks Ann 🙂 Always trying to think of something new over here 🙂

What triggered me was the flyer in my newspaper this past Sunday, otherwise I probably would not have gone either 🙂

Remember, even if they beep and they do not accept the coupon, it does not mean you have to buy the product. I just say, no thanks, I will not take that particular item – and they just take it off the receipt.

HealthyPrepper says:

All good points. I just added the current Dollar General Coupon Policy in the description box above as of today from their website for everyone 🙂

HealthyPrepper says:

Thanks 🙂 Hopefully they will come soon your way too 🙂

HealthyPrepper says:

Dang those royal pain the butt folks! Don't they know that they make more from a coupon than they do on a regular price item once you factor in the 8 cents handling fee?

HealthyPrepper says:

Hopefully they might be coming soon 🙂

HealthyPrepper says:

It's defintiely worth a gander 😉
