I’m Stephanie Nelson, the Coupon Mom, and one of the best places to get great deals is at the drug store. When you know how to be a strategic shopper, you can get some items absolutely free. Just like couponmom.com show you what the best deals are each week at your favorite drug store, select the items you like, print your list, get the coupons and save.

Strategic shopping is about combining all the available promotions and sales to get the lowest prices and at the drug store it’s a little more complex because not only do drug stores have sales and coupons, but they also have automatic rebate programs and store coupons. When you combine all those together it’s fairly easy to get free items. But you don’t have to spend a lot of time figuring that out because couponmom.com figures that out for you every single week. All you have to do is use our list, follow our instructions and you save.

Now your first step is to go to the coupon kiosk and scan your loyalty card, look at that, $2 extra buck, that’s like free money.

Here is an example of how strategic shopping works at the drug store. This item, this razor is usually $10.99, it’s on sale for $9.97. When I buy it, I’ll get a $5 extra bucks reward which is a coupon that prints on my receipt which I can use just like cash on my next order. It will be like I’m really paying 4.97 for the razor, but strategic shoppers use coupons too. I have a $4 coupon for this razor, it will actually cost me $0.97. That’s a big save.

Here is a good example of how extra bucks work. This item is on sale for 99 cents, but it has an extra bucks reward which I’ll get printed on my receipt when I buy the item for 99 cents and I can use that on my next order just like cash. It’s like getting it absolutely free. Now this is the fun part. We get to see how much money we saved. Now today we use sales, coupons and automatic rebates called extra bucks to see how much we could get for practically nothing. Thank you.

Speaker 2: Your welcome.

Stephanie: Today, we paid $23.89 for $72 worth of merchandise. But I got $20 worth of extra bucks which work just like cash on my next order. It’s as if I only paid $3.89 for $72 of merchandise, that’s strategic shopping. The good news is you don’t have to figure all that out yourself. You can just follow couponmom.com and get those kinds of deals every single week and the best part is, it’s absolutely free.

Now, I want to show you exactly how you can use the drug store list on couponmom.com, so you can get those kinds of deals. Once you login to the site, go to the grocery deals by state section. Look for your drug store, click on it to get a list of dozens of deals at the store that week. We have combined all the sale prices with coupons and automatic rebates available to get you the lowest price and the way to read the list is to start out the first column will tell you the date the coupon came out for that particular item. In this case, this coupon came out in the May 2nd circular for Red Plum. That corresponds to the Sunday newspaper coupons.

The second column describes the item. It gives you the description of the item, and the size. The third column tells you the value of the coupon, that’s worth $3.00 off and the next column tells you the number of items you need to buy to use the coupon. The next column tells you what the sale price is before the coupon and then what the final price is after you use the coupon and then your total percentage save for that item as compared to its regular price.

These list are easy to use because you can sort each column. You can sort it by the date the coupon came out, you can sort it alphabetically, you can sort it by price or you can sort it by percentage saved. That’s what I always do, I can see the items that have the most dramatic savings first. All you do is select the items you like, display your list, you can email it to yourself that you always have it with you on your phone and then you can print it.

Couponmom.com list the best deals at many drug stores including Rite Aid, Walgreens, Wall Mart, Target and CVS, to make it easy for you to save every week.
