SeedTime Money says:

Just curious, roughly how much do you spend each month on groceries?

Dinahsoar says:

The problem with my go-to store(Walmart) is that the prices change daily. It never has sales, advertises 'everyday low prices. But there are no regular/stable every day prices. Prices are changed to recoup losses on prices that were lowered temporarily to 'beat' another sellers 'sale' price. For example, in early November the price of Cool Whip was 1.49. Near Thanksgiving and through the month of Dec. it was reduced to .99 cents. Now it's Jan and the price is $1.79. The reduction saved me money for 6 weeks, but over the course of a year there was no real savings. The other stores in my town have weekly sales, and the rest of their items maintain a consistent price, i.e. it's not one price today and a different price tomorrow. I prefer to shop in the other stores because they are much nicer, but if I've seen the price for an item at Walmart and it was much lower, and I decide to wait get it at Walmart on my way homet, only to find when I get there that the price has gone way up, well it's frustrating. When prices change daily there is no way to compare w/o being on the premises daily. Honestly, I'm fed up w/Walmart. I get the best prices at Aldi but it's an hour one way from me and the cost of driving there cancels much of the savings. I have limited storage so there is no way I can really stock up either.

I totally agree!!!! I will make multiple stops in a circle and get this here and that there….it totally works!Β and Aldi's rocks!!!

Juanita Sullivan says:

Sorry, but I could only watch about 5 minutes of this. She is going on and on and on and not getting to it. Plus running around to different stores pricing is a waste of time and gas, so there is no savings.

Dixie Bell says:

i agree about the coupons. One has to make sure the coupons are for what you use anyway. I call it coupon bingo. I also coupon fairy when I find a new item and discover it is out of my range even with a coupon. The way we save on meat is buying it reduced for quick sale. With meat it isn't where but when.
