UPDATE – Minor correction… I call this machine a i5-2400, which is what I thought I took off the shelf. Turns out this is a i5-3450. No real difference in terms of the PC, other than 1 gen newer and about 8% faster in performance than the i5-2400.
i5-3450 – http://ebay.to/2mDkfTq
i5-3470 – http://ebay.to/2nysNA2
i5-2400 – http://ebay.to/2mDktde
i5-2500 – http://ebay.to/2mUxcdv

NOTE – I will be comparing this in a future video soon to the i3-8100, Ryzen 3 1200, and the old, but new again Athlon X4 950. Be sure to watch for that video!

NOTE 2 – This is the first video I've recorded with my new overhead microphone, notice I don't have a mic on my shirt for the first time. The audio isn't great, still working on how to set that up perfectly, but hopefully this isn't too bad. 🙂

Just got the same machine for $121 with shipping, 1tb hdd+4gb ram and its really clean! Excited to start gaming again once 1050ti comes down in price. Thanks TD, you're a huge help!

staha says:

I love your videos, very informative, honest and clear. You answer all my questions as if you can read my mind. Keep up the great work!

Sergiy Botsman says:

Sold my i5 3450 2 years ago to a person who is using it with a GTX 1070, that CPU is a beast when paired with fast RAM and overclocked to 3.8Ghz on all cores.

Jimemy says:

Please benchmark battlefield 1 64players map. Because here i see a hugh bottleneck on my pc with 2500s and gtx 1060. It simple cant play 64 players map with stable 60fps on 1080p. Also i want to know if a 2600 non k would fix the problem or not

Ran Ng says:

So no benchmarks? Any bottleneck?

Chetan Soni says:

Who said pcs are more expensive than consoles

drdiscostu says:

Sweet video. I have a 4570 and have just ordered a 1060 6gb. Did loads of research but didn't find this video until I made the order – but it's given me confidence.

xmarksthespot says:

compare it with a gtx 1060 6gb/i7-8700k.

Fantastic_Timez says:

Running an i5 3470 + RX 470 +16GB RAM. It's holding up quite well given that it's quite old.

Mikie Siharath says:

I have the same system and am wanting to install an SSD like you have in the video. I watched the installation of the other parts but didn't really see how the SSD fit in the DVD drive bay area. Does it need a caddy or does it just mount in there directly?

eXBouncers says:

I love your videos and the quality of them!

kharn the betrayer O says:

Is the gtx 1070 worth it with the new coffee lake

natsuki126 says:

I just bought a dell optiplex 990 mini tower, Intel core I5 3rd generation..was wondering if I install the gtx 750 ti without changing the power supply, will it be a problem if I play the game for hours? Or wat card should I buy if I don't wanna change the power supply?

Alejandro Objío says:

Love how you construct your videos man!, very professional, cheers!

benseeking forghosters says:

Are you kidding me?!?! I have that exact computer and was planning to upgrade to 1070
Then i found this video :O

gloryfiedrebel says:

will the pci-e x16 slot on that motherboard (in the Optiplex 3010) support a gtx 1050ti? Is it a full 75W slot?

jment34 says:

Where can we buy the card that provides 4 usb 3.0 ports without needing additional power. The ones I found online are much cheaper but have a molex connector on them for power.

Ak47 says:

For correction that processor (i5 3450) was released in 2012. so 5 years at top

Ak47 says:

holymoly i got the same cpu.. hey why not combo it with 1050 ti? i wud luv to see that in action

leo874life says:

Video was great but you didnt show the bench marks!

AlexTheSniper19 says:

I wouldnt go the used route with a budget of 600$ dollars sure the gpu will be lesser but the benefits of modern cpu arechitures might be worth it. I would go used for 500$ because at that price point your looking at dual cores or ryzen 3. I would go optiplex 7010 or 790 series over the 3010 its cheaper and is usally more accessible pop in a gtx 1060 or 580 me 580 its faster gpu just pick between those two, then pop in a new ssd and psu and bam way better.

Jay Arre says:

Where is the gaming part? I only see you upgrading the PC, there isn't any gaming.

Gaming?
