I just discovered the greatest invention in the history of hair cuts.
However, it came at a price.
Everyone in the salon hated me for using it.
You will see why in today’s show.

Today’s message: We all have access to the same information. Some of us choose to find it and use it.
Others do not.
No excuses.

Miles Fraser says:

So while the system is helping some customers, it is totally screwing other customers who physically showed up, in person. This discriminates against people who did not have the opportunity to check-in online, because they were too busy. In addition, franchises using this system can use the system to give people wait times on their web site, based on people in the store and based on prior wait time history for that store. They don't have to use it for giving certain customers an advantage over others, for no reason.

Miles Fraser says:

I am a busy father of two young kids. I often stop in to Great Clips to
get a cut. With their Online Check-in Service, I am generally GUARANTEED
to have to wait for some leisurely jackass who strolls in to the shop
after I have already arrived in person, so that they can get their
haircut before me. GREAT system!!! Not really thought out, is it? Very
discriminatory — favoring those with enough time to stop and get online
to book an appointment. I called customer service and they said the
system tells people how long the wait time is. This system wait time is
completely dependent on it being accurate — how accurate is it, and is
this accuracy standardized in any way? Why not just have the franchise
owner post typical busy times and typical slow times on their web site,
instead — how hard is that??? Much better than treating busy customers
like crap.

Thanks for the kudos about our Online Check-In! We agree that it's a great opportunity for those who choose to use it. Sorry, no Jared status though.

Vids says:

Lol. Great story, but oh so true, too. Everyones DOES have the same opportunities, however other things hold them back from moving forward. Personally, I know there is fear of success and procrastination robbing me of success. I am taking steps now. Thanks.

Sterling Lowery says:

For we dont have what we want, not because of our lack of resources. But because of our lack of resourcefulness.
