Hey, friends! If I made a meal plan from this, I'd pick up a few packages or cans of beans and veggies, a package or two of that pasta on sale, and use the ground beef to make things like chili, sloppy joes, hamburger helpers, etc!

Linda Bradley says:

Again, loving following here. But I wish we could all do more to dispel the notion that "name brand" is somehow better than store brand. Mega-marketing campaigns by Proctor and Gamble, Con-Agra, Pepsi-Co, Nestle, et al, does not mean better. It means "We spent more money to make you think our products are better."

Compare ingredients – therein lies the answer. And I personally will pay more for quality any day, regardless.

Jilly Girl says:

While watching this video I remembered I had to still click on the coupon ( new store to me) for EGGS $.77 !!
The cheapest around here is $1.00 at the $ store. So this is a real bargain at a grocery store

Linda Bradley says:

I shop in exactly this same way. Tons of stuff from Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, but love Aldi as well, and our local Kroeger affiliate has GREAT sales. It's just my husband and I, so "budget" per se, is not a big deal. But why spend more than you have to? I avoid processed foods and am CRAZY about checking ingredients. I avoid bad oils, looking for EVVO and/or avocado or coconut oil, and personally will not by anything with carrageenan or palm oil. But I get it that compromises need to be made here and there. I won't compromise on meat and dairy though, because I am a huge advocate against factory farming. 90 percent of our meat and chicken comes from local farmers (even in the Chicago area!!). And all grass-fed, pastured raised for dairy and eggs.

Keep up the great work – I enjoy your videos a lot!! And you offer so many great ideas. Well done!!
