I work as a State Tax Inspector (SGST) and whenever we do "Return Scrutiny" of any business, we check their input purchases (from GSTR 2-A) and disallow such purchases which are not related to business operations (e.g. buying sedan car for the agricultural business or buying an iphone for the personal use).

Therefore, buying an iphone for business and claiming its credit when paying outward taxes will not help you.

In fact, you might be required to pay Penalty and Interest in case of such wrongly availed input credits from the date of availment to date of scrutiny. (18% rate of interest + penalty) 😂😂

Section 17(5) of CGST Act, 2017 – Also known as "Blocked credit" clearly says that anything not related to business cannot be claimed as credit under GST Act.

Even if you luckily get GST Credit, you can only use it to pay outward taxes of your business, and cannot convert it into cash and transfer it to your bank account).
