FAR OUT that amount of bacon in my country is anywhere from $17 – $30 depending on brand. And by the lack of liquid in packaging that would be the higher end. Hey this comes up after I was thinking today Pam. As your a Gardener and the sweet potato thing. You Could make money from selling baby sweet potato plants. You can easy get 100 nodules off 1 sprouted sweet potato. I was pondering on mentioning it to you today. You can Get extra bacon then π I had to put eggs back pin my diet. I have no gallbladder I require them to produce bile. And it's working. However eggs here are $12 a DOZEN!!!!!! So I liberated some battrey hens. I'm lucky I have a huge section and a back one I can fit another house on. It was hard to get my head round getting them in my mouth. But I did and I haven't looked back. Yolks are deep free range orange. Got enough surplace to move on or give away to those in need. I make a lentil bread each week that takes 4 to 5 eggs too. So I ended up with egg on my face lol. But at least I know what I'm eating and that's why I hit them, so I can feed them what does not make me react allergy wise. . The battrey hens are bred to lay. They don't go clucky. They are laying now when normal chooks arnt due to winter. And they are totally human dependant. And a laugh to watch again. The dog was constantly trying to sniff their bums. And the cats…. Are scared of them lol. Bit of humor to watch.
Expiration dates are definitely a clear indication of where food goes from frozen to thaw. I would suggest you not refreeze thawed food because you never know if the food was in a time temp danger zone.
Yes most cases in our grocery store anything going out of date we mark down. With case meat we typically mark down within 14 days of expiration date. We typically buy in food at the lower cost to sell it to get through the sale. Anything going out of date we mark down even with the sale we mark down so e can still make a profit.

Good buys! But it's still not free. There are people who cannot eat meat. Think about it.
