There's nothing wrong with gambling once in a while to have some fun. Just make sure you only use your "entertainment" money and never risk money that you can't afford to lose.

I have found that the week of Labor Days is generally a great time for discounted rooms as well.

While riding the rails during the summer is indeed a nice break from the heat, you are going to walk the entire depth of a casino to get to the big one and then back through the entire length when leaving it. The ones connecting a few hotels (Bellagio to Monte Carol for example) are really nice and do indeed save a lot of time.

The coupons for each year's book expire in late December. For example, the coupons in the current 2013 edition all expire in late December 2013.

more tips.
Ride the Mono Rails. Excpecialy if it's hot. $24 for a 3 day pass. takes you anywhere close on the strip. Not like she says it's hard to find. If it's packed on the strip your not moving very fast, so your standing outside in 106' and not getting very far.
If you look online at luxor I got two shows for $75 with a meal. (carrot top, and Tournament of kings) the booklets are more of a scam. you can win on slots more sometimes at the lowest bet than you can by betting higher.

Here's my tips
if you want the best deal, sign up for a Csesars Entertainment Total Rewards Card, then go on their web site and look at the Casino Calender. most rooms are comped during the week. Don't take the casino's reward offer, (it stinks when you can get the room for up to five days free).
Don't go to the buffets, they're a rip off. Grab a quick meal from a resturaunt. or my pick. (Ellis Island BBQ ribs and chicken). Harrah's $44 buffet package really sucks for a deal.

Hunter Mann says:

Interesting video, but let's face it folks: People like Jean are shills for the casinos and the Las Vegas tourism office, the gambling commission, the hotels & casinos and the Las Vegas chamber of commerce, not exactly rocket science. She is just a talker/barker outside of their circus side show tent, hustling tourists in under the illusion that they are pulling a fast one on the casinos.
Las Vegas is built on your losings not your winnings. People like Jean are double-dipping.

I actually watched this whole video from beginning to end! It is full of really helpful information for having a good time and not paying full price, (even for a 4-time Vegas visitor). Thank you so much for your help!
