The only flaw I can find in this is the voice-over. While it's a good performance, the voice-overs in vintage 'informational' films usually had a deeper, more 'authoritative' tonal quality to them, with a real sense of presence that commands the audience's attention. Advertising favored (and still does) voice talent like that, too. Oh, and Amanda overacts just a wee little bit. Nonetheless, still an excellent job on this!
MISS AMANDA: You can use my Ration coupons and points…and also my Blue Chip and S&H Green Stamps…..:)
enjoyed this thank you whether people like it or not that's way things were
Yeah I had a nagging feeling this was modern. Besides the quality of the camera, there was the products on the shelves, but ultimately it was the dialogue. The pace at which the announcer spoke, and the fact he explained everything as if it was overly educational rather than just educational.
great job adding in the racist fitch ad for a fraction of a second. i hope your teacher took that into account. back then it was par for the course. btw, i do like this video.
Outstanding job. Was looking for actual government films on rationing and ran across this one. I was convinced for a while, but took a few extra looks with a more discerning eye. Just outstanding. As much as you tried to date it, the production quality just came across. I guess that means you're TOO GOOD.
Skillfully done! Entertaining and educational.
I love watching about these rationing and old war programs, they feel to educational.
Also, amanda is sexy :3
Masterfully done! Outstanding attention to detail! More, more, more!!
Oh my gosh, you're so adorable! My hubby is overseas as we speak, and he would LOVE this! Must send. 🙂 Thank you, kitten! LOVE it!

THE CREW OF THE USS MOBILE LKA 115
Thank you for such a wonderful training aid. Could you do more regarding rationing, using or getting by? My folks lived during this time, I would like to know more about what it was all about. I would enjoy more films you can make, especially about WW 2. Also, if you ever do a film on the 1950's, I have a really nice 1955 De Soto Powerflite 4 door sedan you can use for the film(s). Yours, Chris Gulyas, San Diego, CA. 🙂
