This is like developers scattering trash over their part of an estate to grab the rest – by the time you win, you've poisoned the earth you're monetising.

I remembered that Toys R us was big, and it was so big that you could ride the skateboards they sold in the store for hours! I liked it.

I remember going to toys r us as a kid and really wanting to get things but my parents never bought my siblings and I things from their because if the crazy prices. The only time I've seen my parents buy something from them was when they bought a toy for my baby cousin. Low prices is a phrase that should never be put together with toys r us. Those toys were like $70 a doll.

Just like how Toy R Us closed down a bunch of family toy stores when it started, Amazons is doing the same to it. Just a natural progression of businesses.

Kids now a days only want/play smartphones, toys are being replaced with technology. After you play with a toy you get bored, on a smartphone there are so many apps to download and play. Everyone has to grow up eventually ;(

Remember going into a store in Cambridge UK before Christmas to get my kids some things. Walked out disappointed by a dismal collection of things. Didnt buy anything. Ended up getting everything online instead.

Sugercane 72 says:

I remember when our store closed. They had a "everything must go" sale going on, but it was still so much. Only half the stuff there was on sale, and even then most of it was only 15 or 25% off. The shelves remained full.
