I have a refillable epson printer, have been filling that bad boy up with the cheapest ink slop I could find for years and it still prints great. Refillables are much better imo since it's much harder to control what you're putting inside them

Garbage like this was gestating ever since the early 2000s. Ever since printers first started occasionally acting like shareware programs with expired trial periods when you tried to print with low ink. I wish more people had seen that for what it was and pushed back appropriately.
This is exactly why I have a firewall rule that blocks all internet access to my HP printer
At last check (late 2024), Brother prevents third-party label tape from working in their label printers. I'd appreciate it if they did away with that restriction. They can still advertise their genuine label tape, but let us use the third-party label tape! I should see if that's on the wiki.
I’m older than you Louis and I worked for a printer typewriter fax machine repair company in 2003 as that company was one of the few that still fixed typewriters. Brother is better than everyone else, but don’t ever install anything but the driver and know how to do it directly and brother still lets you do that and don’t ever update it. Iprint utility works very good and HP sucks.
OMG IS THIS THE REASON I COULDNT PRINT ANYTHING?!! My printer already wouldnt print unless I had turned on my location on my phone, access my app, then try and access the printer, and was then told that my fresh out the packet hp ink catridge was faulty and I should spend £50 on a new ink package.
I contacted support who told me they "cant do anything about it".
I will never recommend hp to anyone.
