So today has turned into a bonus 2-video day! I just went to my local JoAnn Fabrics to grab some more swimsuit lining, but their sales were so good, I may have had an accidental fabric and pattern haul to share with you. I also wanted to make sure you had ample time to partake in the sale, if you so desire.

Diane Choate says:

Yes, Whitney, that light blue with red flowers is definitely a dress look. Fun, fun, fun…

Stay Stitching says:

Oh, you got some great stuff, Whitney!! You did make yourself a little module, didn't you?

Hope Hope says:

I bought 1537 amazing fit dress too. Actually on sale $1.99 in Hobby Lobby few weeks ago. I have fabric ready to cut. Please make tutorial if you are going to sew it.

Jim Smith says:

Great choices on the fabrics!! You look great in blue. Love especially the blue with the floral print and the eyelet! Can't wait to see your makes!! :+)

Amelia Carey says:

Joann in my town closed and the next town over (about a hour) away is closing. The next one is 3 hours away.

Vera Matson says:

I’ve seen that border print and I can’t wait to see what you make with it!

Tucson Yoga Life says:

Love that floral rayon print! Also, love your channel name. My mother's father was named Tom. He was a carpenter, farmer and avid sewist. Mom says that he used to sew on a treadle machine and sing "The strangest thing I ever did see was a Tom Cat sewing on a sewing machine". LoL!

Linda Frazier says:

I’m catching up on your videos so I’m a little late but than light blue fabric with the red is stunning!! Please show us what you make out of it 😄😄

jolynn White says:

Fun video happy sewing

Sam Dumas says:

I went into JOANN – thank you, purchased the stretch twill and more.. loved your tips. I also revisited the patterns so I can dream of all the things for spring and summer..I enjoy your sewing enthusiasm. I want to know how you girls keep track of your pattern stash. Do you use an app?

Astrid Beckmann says:

Lucky you! Lots of sewing ahead now…

Bex from Texas says:

Thanks for the heads up! The 1st Joanns I went to had zero new patterns SO obviously I had to go on to the next Joanns & I hit pay dirt! They had all the new ones! I bought 10. I am just getting back into garment sewing after many ys of laying it down. Loved your video!!

Kathleen Barron says:

I was at JoAnn x2 this weekend! I’ve centered my module around the Coastal lagoon line. S8921 escaped me, that’s simply(city) fabulous!

Laurie Ginsburg says:

Thank you for the heads up on the pattern sale! I ran over there immediately and got my 10 at $1.99. Love it!

Angela P. says:

Going to Joannes today! You did really good on your purchases. Yay!
I say go for the bibs/ overalls. Age is just a number. I'm 50 something and am addicted to bibs/ overalls. Like you I have a short torso, I find the wide leg styles help to minimize this as does the long over lean look ie Blackwood Cardigan over leggings or with a tunic. I think a wide leg style, Jenny overalls, would look great on you. Another awesome vid Whitney. Ty for your ray of sunshine❤

Michelle K says:

I am sooooo bad. I went online and ordered 4 pieces of fabric including two to make the wrap dress for June’s sewmystyle pattern. But got 13 yards for $62. Can’t beat yardage for two dresses and two blouses!

Carla Humphrey says:

I don't understand how you would use a border print. Wouldn't you be placing the shift dress pattern on the crossgrain?

Laura Jones says:

Great accidental haul, Whitney! I couldn't resist the 25% JoAnn's coupon either and came home with my own accidental haul, too!

Vicki Higgins says:

I got to Joann's and actually bought some of the same fabrics and can't wait to see what you make with the Tencel like denim, the eyelet, and the brushed cotton pant weight. I got the dark navy and the navy top fabric that matched. Oh I also found the border print but thinking of a light weight duster but not sure yet but boy when you showed those I thought wow can she ever pick fabric as I often pick what is lovely but not always sure of the application so I'm copying you so I learn which fabrics for what. Thanks again so much its like having a true mentor.

eparke20 says:

JoAnn's definitely got a $100 from me because of this video 🤣 they should sponsor you!

Have you thought about opening a Facebook group so your audience can engage with each other more?

Nicole Wilson says:

Hi Whitney. Awesome video as usual. I love your channel. Great pattern choices which I’m really looking forward to you making as I am also very rectangular in my shape and want to hear your feedback on how they turn out. So jealous of the savings – I live in Australia.

CherryA19 Johnson says:

I was at JoAnns today too!!!! However I bought a couple of Coco plant lines, a cute little green ceramic bunny planter & a Watercolor technique floral painting book. Love your fabrics.

BONBON SEWS says:

Your productivity amazes me. Gonna have to take a break from my deck sanding and head over to JoAnn. 🙂 You didn't ask but I vote no on the overalls even though all those adorable british sewers are so into them. Such a nice haul Would be surprised if our Cincinnati store has all that.

Nora Kathleen bertoglio says:

Wow! Great fabric! I went to JoAnn’s yesterday. I bought dark blue linen (not a blend) for a pair of shorts and a skirt. My shorts pattern is by Greenstyle Creations the Taylor shorts. My skirt pattern is NewLook 6106. I would like to line the pockets with something other than self-fabric. Any recommendations? I just feel like lining with the linen will look too bulky. Also bought a rayon linen blend to make a dress with McCall’s 7920. Guess I need to go back again today for interfacing….lol.

Becky Underwood says:

I will be working all day, so I’ll miss out ☹️

Kristi says:

Thanks for the heads up! I think I'll make a trip to JoAnn's today.

Jennifer Lzr says:

Funny you mentioned that JoAnn’s puts fabric inside out on the bolt. I noticed that last week! What the heck?

Rikki B says:

We don't have Simplicity patterns at our stores in Canada but I still like to watch my American friends' pattern hauls:) Brittany IS a ray of sunshine, but so are you Whitney! I enjoy hearing your thoughts/plans/tutorials. You have so much valuable knowledge that you share! I just finished a Sophie swimsuit and I have one unfinished suit (different pattern) from last year that I'd like to have done for summer, then I'm probably done for swimsuits (unless it's a basic tank style). I need a good mindless project at the moment lol
