We travel quite a bit, so are pretty well acquainted with Kroger and affiliate stores as well as the various changes that have occurred through the years. I generally change the zip code to the city where we are currently traveling to make sure we get the proper sales. We live in a region with two different Kroger affiliates — Fred Meyer (FM for short) and Smith's, but I've never tried changing zip codes from another state to use at our local stores. A couple observations I've made: While in an Arkansas Kroger, I had a coupon ring in at a lower value than the one I had loaded. I don't recall if it was a store coupon or a manufacturer coupon, but the one I loaded was something like an 80 cent coupon and in Arkansas the register only gave me 50 or 60 cents, so I assumed that region must have gotten a lower value coupon. Also, during the big egg shortage, I didn't know which of our stores would actually have eggs in stock — it was a BIG problem here. I loaded the weekly digital coupon for both stores even though FM was charging a higher price than Smith's. Smith's had the eggs so I bought them there and even though I used my Smith's card, I was charged the higher FM price — lesson learned. 🀨 If Smith's has a lower priced weekly digital coupon, it generally won't show up on my FM coupons even if it is clipped, but if Smith's has an item on a weekly digital that FM doesn't offer. That coupon will often show up in my FM coupons after I've clipped it on the Smith's site and the register will honor it at FM. For a while Smith's offered the 2x points on weekends and FM offered the 4x points on Friday. I had to load both coupons or I would not get the extra points at the other store. I didn't get 4x points at Smith's on Friday, nor did I get 2x points at FM the rest of the weekend. Also, unlike Kroger stores, you CANNOT use manufacturer coupons with weekly digitals at FM. The register will charge you full price and then apply the manufacturer coupon to one item, even if the end price is HIGHER than the weekly digital price. ☹

Great video, Shana! Thank you so much.

Thank you 😊

@jetprinter2349 says:

Thanks I learned a lot today. ? Does the store your using the ZIP code for have to be a Kroger's. Or can you use an affiliate of Kroger's? If your region has a digital for something and you clip it but see a better digital at the Texas location and clip it. Do you need to unclip your digital to use the Texas digital? Hope I explained it ok. Thank you I am certainly going to try this.❀

I wonder if you waited until Saturday to load the 2X fuel point coupon if it would work then for the rest of the weekend.

@hopehasty5039 says:

Thanks, Shana! I haven't tried this yet, but glad to see how super-simple it is…. and proof that it works! Hope you're having a great time in Gatlinburg today! 😊

@dandyman9205 says:

Yay! Ive been doing this for quite some time now…but Im so happy for others that they get to see how helpful it is in unlocking so much more savings! There are some times some major differences in the pricing! Love it! Thanks for sharing it with others! Happy Weekend! I'm on my way to shop!

@annd8666 says:

Can you only do this on a computer? I only have my phone.😒

@cori7209 says:

My stores are now true bogos. I think it had something to do with the glitch online where sometimes BOGO items would ring up half off AND BOGO. I guess it's partly my fault for participating in it.

@The_SeoulJourner says:

Great video. Personally, I find looking at the digital deals on the Weekly Ad page a lot easier to navigate. The coupon page divides them between clipped and unclipped. The ad page keeps everything on one, so I am not having to flip screens or scroll constantly.
