If they have a Friday and Saturday only digital deal can you also use paper coupons or will those not apply?

Most places I've gone won't let you add a coupon to a store sale. So like with the Tide Simply Pods, most places will only let you do either the $2 off coupon OR the $1.99 price. Not both. How do you manage that? Or is it just because of the double coupon day that you're able to do that?

I went last Sat and my Kroger had 90% off Summer clearance. I spent $27 and got a 20pack duracell batteries for $2.50. Also lots of candy big Hershey almond bars were .25. I stocked up for Christmas and myself lol! Plus mechanical pencils, kitchen sponges 9pack $2 grabbed both. Lots of awesome deals. Also mens body wash and some other stuff. Love clearance!!!!
How do you know if they double?
