Christa, unfortunately most employees don’t care what the policy says… At least around here they are going to give you a hard time until you were at the point of just saying forget it and walking out barehanded!! I have had even managers of stores tell me that I cannot use any more than between 1 and 4 coupons per shopping trip no matter how many transactions I do. I’ve called corporate several times and nothing seems to happen. I’ve also been told that they were going to escalate it to the local district manager and that I would receive a call back and that never happens either. I have pulled out the policy for cashiers and managers alike and showed them where in black-and-white it’s states what the policy is and I have been told that it is their store and they make the rules. I have greatly reduced the amount of trips to Dollar General to Coupon. Unfortunately, I have to say most Dollar General employees are incompetent. They do not understand the coupon jargon and decipher it however they feel necessary. When you have a huge line of people behind you because the transaction has now taken 15 minutes of arguing about what a word means in the couponing world and the cashier or manager is not budging at all, it does me absolutely no good to try to call corporate right then because nothing is going to happen anyway. Dollar General spends no time at all training their cashiers and managers on how to accept coupons properly. I have even been told because I have said that a per purchase equals per item that I am committing coupon fraud!! I am so over DG.

All DG near me read the coupons like the coupon police and follow that limit! Not the DG 5 like coupons 🙁 I even had a cashier tell me they don't take coupons on $1 items!?
