That's part of the reason why but that's not the reason why most customers like me canceled order. Capability, 20k price hike and the promised range on the top tier. it's pretty much worthless for me who now retired other than daily drive. Hell, I have 4 other cars for daily drive. I need it for hunting, fishing, hauling and camping with weeks or so. There's no SC stations if you're out there chasing for Moose or fishing Salmon in Kenai Ak.

I know retirees that do not make $100k/year buy EV's to get rid of their ICE vehicle. Also, the overall EV market now has a lot more used EV's that are affordable at lower price points which keeps increasing the adoption of EV. In CA, it's always better to go EV if only to get away from all the oil company's games.
The tax credits on EVs are ineffective. Take the CT. You have a $80K truck. You take that amount and reduce it by $7500 dollars, regardless if it is a reduction in taxes or directly removed from the price of the truck, you still have an expensive truck that most people cannot afford. If you cannot afford 80K, you cannot afford 72.5K. Those incentives, specially the ones where taxes are reduces at the end of the year, are designed to create an incentive for those who are paying that amount otherwise. I rather have Tesla put their thinking hat and find a way to make affordable cars without the need of tax credits.
RIP all those cybertruck owners that paid $100k or more….

Tesla's outlook has changed dramatically due to various reasons:
on the whole, people who are passionate about the environment or electric driving are likely already owners of an electric vehicle;
while in other places of the market, electric driving is experiencing scepticism and aversion;
the CEO's outspoken behavior is likely to alienate a certain segment of the market;
and finally, Tesla is not as far ahead of the competition as it once was.
Given these new circumstances, Tesla stock is overvalued.
