Eggs. I don’t buy a lot so I’ve always just bought the small pack and it was always .94. NOW?? Almost $3. What the heck. I cannot imagine going into a CVS or Wags and not using coupons. And I know there are people that don’t have transportation and are doing that. I just couldn’t imagine that right now.

@jamiethornton4484 says:

Are there inserts in this weeks paper being that its christmas

@savingwithpinkylee says:

I have a family of 10 and groceries have always been our biggest expense every month. On a typical week I spend about $400-$500 on food items BEFORE inflation. Due to the inflation I started couponing on everything and anything I could to save money elsewhere so I could afford to keep providing the groceries we need. Couponing has helped drastically but I do miss the food coupons and deals we got a lot of when I started this journey

@yasrebkhazma4346 says:

We are a family of 4 and yes I pick everysale item on the front page of each store and get what is extreme affordable from here and there , cook only home meals and avoid eating at restaurants and I need at least 800$ !

@xErcaWhalex says:

My mom thought I was out of my mind because I spent $650 at Walmart this week. The kids are out of school, and my husband is off for a week AND we are providing Christmas dinner for my family and my husbands family. I feel like I’m just lucky enough to be able to provide that for our family but next week we will definitely be eating ramen. 🙄😒

I'm an old school couponer that stopped for a while and am just coming back to it. I used to be able to get overage from HBA couponing to cover food items that rarely had. coupons like meat, produce, dairy. It's such a different world now and my dietary habits are also very different, but there really is a scarcity for food coupons lately. Cereal maybe, but I mostly have to shop sales and create additional loyalty accounts to stock up using digitals. I'm seeing at least a 30% increase in my normal grocery expenses and also noting that today's sale prices are still more than regular prices just a year or two ago!

@karenrambo9750 says:

I have three accounts at my favorite grocery store because the digitals are one use only. So yes I do three transactions each time I visit. I live 25 miles from the nearest of this chain so I can’t just pop in, it’s a journey!

@rhondapresley3635 says:

I love couponing at CVS I used to only do the grocery store couponing

@julieyeskie9315 says:

Thanks for sharing Luellen! I am definitely more conscientious about my grocery habits. I now always look for sale items, utilize the store’s app and coupons, and a lot of time buy store brand grocery items – not name brand! I live in a suburb outside of Detroit, and spend about $210 per week for a family of four. But I diligently make a list every week, use my digital coupons, and the store app to save. Takes me at least an hour or two to prepare. Kroger has given me the best savings of anywhere for the past six months!

@shalow93 says:

Thanks for everything you do! I love Costco, but it’s 30-45mins away. Still have a membership because I’m in the same area as Costco a couple times a month. For my family of two, we probably spend about $100 a week in groceries.

@mamabear829 says:

Happy holidays to you and your family

@katherineromero8589 says:

I like couponing for household items but I love when I can get food or snacks for free with my store money. I have plenty of tp, detergent, shampoo, etc. This week I grabbed chocolate chip cookies for Santa and some snacks for my daughter.

@gigilongtime2891 says:

Gold emblem assorted nuts that are usually $6.49-$9.95 are on $4.99 unannounced sale right now and most of us got 5 off 20 or 2 of 10 for gold emblem snacks this is a good deal for me personally someone who eats nuts as snack on the regular just thought I would share for anyone who would like this deal. Even their deluxe mix is $4.99 I got four cans at about 3.75 each after the coupon deal through their cvs app. I’m a family of four we spend over three thousand per month on food we strongly feel clean food is the way we have to live so organic mostly a lot of juicing no processed food. Inflation is definitely hitting hard just two years ago maybe less we used to spend half of that. So 50 percent spike in 24 months it’s rough but health is the biggest investment one can make. You pay up for it now or later when health fails.

@jennywilliams2373 says:

I have 4 adults – 2 are teenagers. We spend $1200 a month. This includes food, medicines and household goods.

@irishollingsworth6535 says:

I shop for food where ever I go but the bulk I do at Walmart. I pick things up at dollar tree, grocery stores dollar general,family dollar .

@saversavvy2670 says:

I try to work in food to my 8 off 40 if I have moneymakers with it. Even if it is a can of soup or a bag of snacks.

@nativegirl928 says:

WOW!! I just started noticing that besides the inserts being so paper thin. Couponing used to be so fun until these past two years. Anytime, I can find coupons I use them. Thank you for the update ❤🙏❤

@donnasims7560 says:

Our grocery budget is about $300 a month for a family of 4 we only go to the store twice a month and we stick to 2 types of meat and make different meals out of it mostly hamburger meat and chicken and I have a list with prices and we eat a lot of left overs we don’t waste anything around here and ibotta and fetch is awesome and we use coupons at our grocery store we shop at food lion and Walmart

@ritahernandez1750 says:

Gas here in Spring TX is $2.25 per gallon if you use your Walmart pay.

@couponingwithcaprice5290 says:

Hey Luellen, whenever I have free time I email my favorite food manufacturers Iike LALA for smoothies, chobani etc. I tell them how much I appreciate their wonderful products and ask them if they could share any coupons for their products and they mailed me so many freebie q's so definitely do that in your spare time.
