What is Shopkick you ask?
Shopkick is a totally FREE app for your iPhone or Android mobile smart phone. By allowing it to see your location using your GPS, it will automatically recognize when you enter a participating store, retailer, or restaurant, then reward you. You can earn offers and rewards called “Kickbucks” or “kicks” by simply entering the store and also by scanning barcodes within the store. Kickbucks can then be redeemed for rewards such as Gift Cards to many stores including Target and Toys R Us, movie tickets, gas cards and so much more!
If you haven’t used Shopkick yet, here’s what you need to do to get started…
iPhone Users — search for the word “shopkick” in the App Store. Android Phone Users — search for the word “shopkick” in the Play Store. Once you find the app, follow the download instructions.
Once you have created your account, you will score FREE Kicks!
You can collect kicks and bonuses and redeem coupon offers at stores and restaurants across the U.S. when you do the following…
Check or Walk In: You can collect kicks for checking in at stores and restaurants. Just walk into a store listed on the app and receive points. You may earn walk-in points once per store, per day. Simply open the Shopkick app, and check in. Stores and cities are being added all the time, so when in doubt, pull out your phone and check! You will also get exclusive shopkick deals and coupons at those stores that can save you money and give you additional kicks. To collect Walk in kicks — Click on store you want and see if it shows the walk in icon. Click on the walk ins row to get step by step help. Make sure when you are at the store the Shopkick app is open and stand near the entrance.
Scan Products: Collect kickbucks by scanning products with your phone at 250,000 different stores in America. Once inside a ShopKick store, the app will give you a list of bonus points you may earn by scanning a product’s barcode. You may scan and earn kicks once per day, per product with a maximum of five scans credited per product in any thirty day period.
Redeem Coupons: Many stores and restaurants offer coupons or offers through Shopkick. You can access these coupons by tapping “Deals and Finds” within the app. You can view the deals and finds, select “use” on the offers you want to use, and when you get to the checkout, simply let your cashier scan the code on your phone to redeem the offers! I love using Shopkick at Target because there are always lots of coupon offers available and it’s super easy to use!
Link your Visa debit or credit card with ShopKick: This will score you even more points at checkout! ShopKick provides a link to the Visa portal so you know your information is secure. ShopKick does not have any record of your account information. Simply use your linked card to pay, and you will earn kicks automatically.
Invite your friends: Use the link within the ShopKick app to invite a friend — when 3 friends join, you will receive 2,000 kicks and each friend will receive 50 kicks! What a simple way to earn kicks! There are several ways to share: 1) Tap on your profile in shopkick (“Me” or your first name”), then on Invite Friends. 2) Or tap on the “wheels” icon in the top left corner of your shopkick app, then choose the first option “Invite Friends”.
What Do I Do With All These Kicks?
Here’s the really fun and fantastic part! Now you can redeem all these kickbucks for great rewards such as iTunes gift cards, Gift Certificates to stores such as Best Buy,Target, Sports Authority, Toys R Us and Macy’s, a 3D 55″ Sony Bravia HDTV, a Gas Card, Movie Tickets, and more! You can even donate your kickbucks. Each month Shopkick features multiple causes for you to donate your kicks to — how great is that? To redeem your rewards, just tap on the “Rewards” tab. Lets see…waste my time scanning items for points to earn discounts on items, or spend my time meditating under a tree to see that I don't need most of this garbage…easy choice!

when adding friends, can I add friends by email address? or they absoutely have to be facebook friends? What about if I want to add friends that are not facebook users? That's the only thing I don't like about it.
Hi, because it's a mobile phone app you will need a phone/phone number. I'm not sure if the app is available outside the US.
