I stopped shopping there a few years ago. Poor quality, overpriced, and the sales felt like a game.
I haven't shopped fabric in store for years!
I love these suprise shopping trip videos! WOW that JOANNS is amazing – will go a long way toward rebranding the Joann image and attracting new customers as well as bringing back old customers. I mostly quilt, so I tend to purchase fabric from local shops or online, but would look at garment and home dec fabric at Joanns – nice to be able to do the "comfortable or cringy" hands on fabric test. Usually buy tools & notions at Joanns.
Thanks for sharing that Jo-Ann renovation. They must’ve started on the East Coast as it is not like that in the Midwest in Illinois.

It's kinda interesting. Up until about maybe 10-12 years ago Hobby Lobby wasn't even in my state. When it moved it and started spreading everywhere J's and M's all started remodeling their stores. lol Lemme tell ya.. they NEEDED it. Most locations were absolute holes. We've moved around the same area (Seattle/Tacoma area) so it changed which one I frequent because I only have a Ben Franklin locally (remember those?) I take every chance I can get to peruse J's. But I think I mainly use Joanne's for the Parklane textured 12" paper… I think it's the classic Bazzil and it cuts like buttah. lol Oh and one of the few plus sides to the pandemic and subsequent "hobby surge" in every niche is the polymer clay stock got fully rotated so it's nice to get fresh clay at the stores now. Can I say how irritated I am that they have (like all the other stores) just absolutely cater to Cricut? I used to be able to find the random Silhouette stuff like their chipboard and now they don't carry it, not sure if it's location specific or overall- they seem to be switching to ONLINE Only for a lot of things. Now it's like aisles of Cricut and maybe a few pegs on the lowest level of Silhouette. Grrr….
Precuts at Walmart is nice for a quick impulse buy but Joann no!
I prefer going to Joanns thaan ordering online, they always mess up my orders. This store looks just like the ones in Washington state.
Fun! I haven’t been to Joann’s since I was in Austin in 2018. This store looks way better than the one I went to.
What city in Florida? I’ve never seen a Joann’s like that. The ones I go to are pretty sad looking. I would live to shop there if only for the atmosphere. 😯
Wow!! what a cool and modern looking Joann's, so really organized. Nothing like mine that's for sure.
Here in the Sacramento area we have several JoAnn stores and a New one like the one shown here, I noticed it now carries fewer thread choices tho, wish they would carry 50 wt quilting thread and more interesting bag making hardware. Their button game is great, licensed character buttons galore, Disney villians, star wars, Nightmare before xmas, so many!
Our Lynchburg Va store is a dump compared to this. Half the size, hasn’t been updated in probably decades. Honestly, I’m surprised they’re still opened, a Hobby Lobby opened up a mile away a couple of years ago.

Wow, I have never seen such a clean store. The Fresno, CA store is so hard to shop. It’s so messy I get anxiety after 5 minutes.
