Since WIC in NC only offers Similac advance or isomil, we're very limited. I tried a few different formulas with both my kids. Luckily, they both tolerate regular formula and do alright with Similac. My daughter is 8 months and has some gas issues but not enough to pay out of pocket for a different formula. It would be nice if WIC offered formula cash vouchers instead of having a contract with one company. I think some states offer a few different brands or more variety with the same brand. Can't complain, I save a ton of money on formula. My daughter was born at 32 weeks and was exclusively breastfed for her first 4 months, but exclusively pumping takes its toll eventually. She still gets frozen breastmilk. My first was only breastfed for the first month, then entirely formula fed while I tried relactating. Organic formulas like happy baby and plum are also really wholesome commercial formulas. If money weren't an issue, I'd order that hipp formula from Germany.
Similac is intact cow milk protein (watermelon size protein) and Gerber products is an partial hydrolyzed protein (orange size protein). Smaller protein size results in better feeding tolerance. Trial it out this difference like he did!
