Make the customer happy. I work for a CVS and if someone is going to make a fuss with a coupon, I will just Price modify the item, UNLESS the coupon is expired or doesn’t match what the customer bought. There’s no sense in calling the police over a coupon!!! If the customer is violent and making a disturbance or harm to employees in the store then yes, maybe I would contact the police. This is crazy.

i know a lot of people are going to give him shit for it but as someone who has worked that job i'll say this: often times the company would send out notes to the stores warning of scams and would encourage store reps to be vigilant. they would often say that if it's legit the customer would have a physical gift card OR would have a coupon resembling one of our basic coupons.. and not the one that was shown. I've never before in my life seen the coupon that was shown in the video and would be skeptical because of what i've already mentioned. The company would also warn about scanning gift cards on phones, coupons on phones, and etc. Also I don't believe the guy in the video is "the store manager" but someone of a management position such as supervisor or assistant manager. Working in the CVS polo is a big no no for store managers. Lastly I will agree calling the cops didn't make sense and was the wrong call, we have phone numbers to contact corporate or our LP if there was suspicion.

Happens when you're white as well. I used to shop with a envelope full of coupons and a calculator, security used to follow me around while the shoplifters went unchecked. I complained to the management and told them I much I wouldn't be spending there. Security was called off.
