At the very beginning the narrator says he spends 12 hours a week couponing. I know he already works a few jobs but even at a low wage of let's say $12 an hour that's almost $150 bucks a week he could be earning. Since he is already working, though, there's a good chance that some or most of those 12 hours would be worth overtime pay. I know a lot of people get groceries every two weeks. Under that assumption, the opportunity cost for his couponing is roughly $300. As far as I know, groceries back when this episode came out shouldn't have been worth $300 a trip. I don't even pay that much during my trips now after several years of inflation.

Long story short: I'm pretty confident that all this couponing is less beneficial to his family than just working a job

Reece Bailey says:

It's interesting to see how they've saved this amount of money, however, there are a few things that come to mind when watching this:

1) The stores are likely to eventually take action when using this amount of coupons, it's wasting a lot of the cashiers time and potentially holding loads of people in the que.

2) The significant amount of time and effort spent to save this money could be earned elsewhere.

3) Unless you're selling these products, they're going to have to find storage for all them soups etc that will take ages to consume. It's not like there's a nice variety of groceries.

Joan says:

No wonder shes a ex, how obnoxious.

Nightmare Girl says:

I'm sorry but the girls need to grow up and realize that he's doing this for his family so he takes it seriously and them playing around and messing with his numbers/products will mess him up and that's not okay
