I was a cashier at Safeway when the same thing happened to me. This lady saved 70 bucks out of $300 or something like that. But this lady was a real Karen and gave my co-workers crap for not knowing where certain things were.
So I run her up and she gave me a stack of coupons. She was holding up a giant line and I was purposely going slow because my shift was about to end. We took 10 minutes with BSing with the coupons and making sure she had the correct brand of products.
So when I was done wringing her up I looked at my clock and I said to everybody "sorry, i have to clock out now, boss gets mad when I work over my hours", then I looked at the woman and signaled to the other customers with my eyes, "yeah… this is HER fault" and then I bounced. It was a dick move in my end but I totally succeeded in deflecting what I did to it being all her fault. They were calling her names and following her to her car yelling at her

In Germany a coupon states a percentage off and that's that, no multiple coupons work. And coupons never work on discounted stuff.

I loved ringing up coupons. It was like being on a slot machine watching the total go down. Unfortunately, paper coupons are almost gone & you can't by in quantities any more.
