THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!

Comments

Danielle Cote says:

She is right. In a public property you can not record anyone without their permission. That is why people sign a release before going on television.

Jason Todd says:

The customer is often wrong, just saying.

But the "If you do it again" is in reference to you recording her, not to the coupons.

jeanthree says:

You have every right to record the employee because walmart is already recording them and it's a public place they have no expectation of privacy

Joseph Paul Ritter says:

One per purchase is one item for each time you go to the register. So to get around it is to separate transactions to get the one item per purchase.

Tracy Leborgne says:

stores that accept coupons need to have a coupon system set up… they have self checkout lines .. 8 items or less lines… the express line… then they should have a coupon line…. coupon register.. trained staff… and have the policy printed and posted at that register large enough for everyone to read… this way it avoids anyone making up a policy to fit their situation or not wanting to deal with a coupon … but easier said then done…

Julie Moncrief says:

Omg why didn’t you film it? Walmart sucks.

George Worotikan says:

I used coupons in major fast food restaurants in the NY area & some of the restaurants do not accept them, I asked them why and some of them gave America a bad attitude and I’m no longer patronizing those establishment where they do not accept coupons especially in the NYC 5 boroughs & Long Island Area.
They’re many of them but I don’t go to the certain fast food restaurants.

Héktor Muñoz says:

I'm done with Walmart…

Clipazine Operator says:

You say we shouldn't use walmart but you use it and probably still do to this day. It's really all about how you handle the situation. You could have gone back and spoke with a different assit manager. Look at their name.badges. If they have been at walmart for a long time it will say the number of years on their badge. If you get someone who has been with them for longer than 10 years. They will help you. Walmart just initiated a customer first policy and they will make sure you're happy. But they will only follow the guidelines of the store and a more.seasoned employee will know said guidelines. Walmart is trading at $97 a share they are doing fine. But the only issue I had with your vid is telling people don't go anymore. Because I know you can't tell me you don't use walmart anymore.

Jaymie Smith says:

It is frightening that you people have so much time on your hands to make a poor cashier's life even more miserable then it already is.

DIONNE FRANCIS-BROWN says:

The fault lies with you lady why are you using Walgreens coupons even if they are manufactured coupons at a Walmart store? I presume the logo on the coupon is that of Walgreens not Walmart, clearly this is a miss use of coupons. In the UK if I had a Tesco (supermarket) coupon and was to use it at a Sainsbury’s supermarket, Sainsbury’s would not accept the coupon. What you don’t understand is that Walmart has to redeem the coupons if they accept them from the manufacturer. Walmart will only override coupons that is for their company not another company. What you have to understand is that each cashier is responsible for their till/float and they will be held accountable if there are irregularities/shortfall in their float. REMEMBER YOU DO NOT work for Walmart and she does, the store can change its policy regarding coupons at any time. You are lucky you were not banned from the store. You need to be held accountable for your actions as you deliberately used the wrong coupons (Walgreens) in that store and thought you got away with it. Imagine if she did accept the coupon and you went home with your shopping and then on your next visit you heard that she got fired because she accepted those coupons from you which caused a serious shortfall in her float at the end of the day, how would you feel. She was wrong for shouting at you and she could have handled the situation better but you was wrong for deliberately using the wrong coupon in the wrong store . Just because you are a couponer doesn’t mean you are above the law. Use the right coupons for the right store and stop miss using them and when things go wrong be accountable and stop blaming the next person.

khwilli1 says:

On that policy it even states " Must have Manufacturer Coupon printed on there." Even if it has Walgreen's.

Fabiana Rocky says:

I am so sorry you had to endure that kind of treatment.

Mimi says:

I've called Corporate about my Walmart. The manager did not even know they do overage to either cash or to be applied to basket total. I now always take a copy of policy with me for reference. The management of the store does not even know their own policy!!! Corporate sent me a $20 gift card. It's crazy!!! They treat us like we are stealing!!! And like you, they wanted to deny my coupons without even trying to scan it to see if it would even match the item I was buying! Grrrrrr

Pam Hocker says:

When did the name Walmart change to her name? It's not her store. Please call corporate. I've worked retail for 6 1/2 yrs and I never treated customers like that. You are right about profiling the cashiers. The young girls and older ladies want to read the coupons. The young guys really don't care.

MrDesoto1 says:

I quit Wally World over a year ago, because of their own issues.

Khalima Jacobs says:

Whatever happened after you called corporate? This is one reason I steer clear of that store.

tracie sauceman says:

I'm so sorry this happened to you….I was ESCORTED out by security ..over the Bic coupons….said I was stealing from Walmart….

Stacie Lessard says:

This is the exact reason why I watch videos like yours. I am a newly trained cashier at Walmart and I am actually learning about the coupon policy this way. Thank you for posting this. I myself am a couponer and I welcome coupons at my register!

RebeWill2 says:

Thank you for your honest post. Not all stores are like Walmart regarding coupons! Walmart has a long history of scamming consumers out of coupons. They devalue the coupon by forcing the consumer to buy a higher priced product then what the coupon states, they try and limit the use of coupons by stating that it is one coupon per transaction, when it is one coupon per item, not transaction, they will not take a coupon if the item is not pictured on the coupon, etc., etc., etc. Walmart has even prosecuted people for overages gained by using legitimate coupons. No wonder Walmart has closed 256 stores and the stock is rated hold. Dollar General bought 41 of Walmart's express stores and is opening over a thousand new stores in 2017. Unfortunately accusing customers of criminal behavior when attempting to use coupons at Walmart is endemic throughout most all Walmarts. When the actual truth is that Walmart employees are scamming the public out of legitimate coupons and diverting the attention by accusing the consumer of fraud when using coupons.

Also in many states if you are a party to a conversation and there is no expectation of privacy, there wasn't in your case since many people were listening, you can legally audio record a conversation without the other person's knowledge you are recording as long as you are a party to the conversation. I know this is a long comment, but like many couponers I have had continual problems couponing at Walmart and I hope this comment helps anyone attempting to coupon at Walmart.
