I'm in Kentucky and when I have shopped at my Joann store it has only had 2 employees also. It was always hard to get someone to help me unless I went in at night when there were very few shoppers in the store. I've even tried to order on line and they messed up my order. On line it said there were items in stock but after I had put my order through over half my items I didn't get because they were not in stock. When I called to find out why this happened they just said it was a problem with there system. Then I asked if I would get those items sent to me when they got them but they told me no that I would have to reorder them. The items were on sale so they cant do back orders. Not sure if I will have to pay full price when I order again or not but she told me to call and gave me a # to give when I do. I got to where I didn't like going to the store anymore because the employees were rude so now I don't know if I want to try and order again. I haven't been getting my point that they keep saying I will get when I shop. So I have just been really frustrated with them ๐Ÿ˜ก

I work at Joanns. Completely disfunctional. The stores get blamed for poor customer service. You can not run a store properly with the payroll dollars that Corporate give the stores. Each employee is expected to do the work of three employees. And they get to do it for minimum wage, part time, no benefits, and with little to no training. Plus the customer wants you to calculate and design their curtains, bench cushions, dining chair covers, dress, pajamas, quilt yardage, you name it. And that customer has no sewing experience or simple math skills.

Hugh turnover after people work there a while and see what is expected of them. A Subway store employes more people per shift than a Joann store does.

I've been working at Joann Fabrics for 4 years.
It is very stressful. We know there are long lines and it's really frustrating not just to the customers but for us too. My manager is constantly cutting hours so we only ever have 3 people working at a time and expects us to get a ton of stuff done while helping customers and we have a fairly large store.
I love interacting with customers and seeing all the fun stuff they're making it's the best part of the job. But not having anyone working makes it really hard to do this. I wish we would hire more people because we are very short on employees especially now during the holidays we are desperate for people and yet we're just not hiring for some reason. Maybe people just aren't applying.
I am sorry to everyone who has had bad experiences at Joanns. Some employees at other stores I've been to are kind of terrible. At my store, we have some really great workers. Being a key holder I never get any complaints from customers about my coworkers only compliments about how helpful everyone is. The only complaint I ever get is about how short staff we are. Which sucks and I wish I could do something about it.

The ad for the 9 to 1 is actually a coupon you get off on the emailer or the app. They are usually the 60/70% off any regular priced item.

I agree I hate Jo-Ann's Fabric it will always be my last if ever choice. They have so many restrictions and crafts at the coupons are never good for anything, they sent me a $5 gift for my birthday and they hassled me about trying to use that when I was there. I agree with you there's never any employees there there's always long lines for the fabric their prices are outrageous. I hate Jo-Ann Fabrics

I had to stop shopping there a couple years ago, because of all the things you mentioned. I couldnt take it. So sad, i use to live going there.

The Joanns email I received was for 9-1pm Doorbusters. That is was what I saw. Not sure what you received but it was noted on ours.
