I wonder if they insure their stockpiles or do they not care because they didn't have to pay for them? I am also intrigued how they lay their hands on so many coupons in the first place.
We don't have couponing in Australia so this whole phenomenon is very mind boggling to me. I admire and commend the couponers who put in the work collecting and shopping to give the goods to charity but it's a shame there's not an easier way or more direct way for the charities to receive the groceries.
So true, coupons now say one per person and one per transaction, that's why people spend more in bulks to get a reasonable cheaper price to a regular price
I was heavy into coupons and refunds for several years. Back then they usually had places that doubled coupons .50 and less, and for a short time tripled them. I never had room for big stockpiles, but the limit was always 2 like coupons anyway. I wondered how the couponers on the show could get so many of one item, now I know. Now, I live alone and don't need so much. I get some good deals with digital coupons at Dollar General but that's about the extent of my couponing. When something I use is on sale though I automatically grab 2, that habit has been impossible to break! I miss having extra for friends & family, and the thrill of getting some especially good deals.
I tried to get enough in coupons once to really cut down on my expenses . After a week I gave up . Coupons are just not that great anymore thanks largely to this show and crazy people
In 2004,/5, I was at CVS stocking up on basic make up and skin care products. My bill was around $50-60. The cashier asked if I wanted to use my store token (on my keychain) which I really didn't think mattered bcos that's what my cuz has said. But I handed it to the cashier. She then she asked if I had coupons and when I said, no, she asked that I go grab a few mags at the front entrance of store, and I did. She open the magz, did a few zaps and my bill was suddenly $13 or $15 or something like that. I have no clue how she did it. I paid and walked out dazed. So, it is true, the savings can be huge.
Years later I was back in Singapore and heard that couponing was big in U.S. and my cuz didn't believe it was true so she never bothered to learn. But I still don't get how those shoppers get 70 coupons for a single product in one week to be able to clear out shelves.
Most coupons promote crap anyways. Candy, cookies, frozen meals, low quality hair products etc. I attempted to do coupon years ago and all I was able to stock pile were glade plugins. My house smelled like cinnamon apple for months ๐
Yeah and in Philippines and most of Asian countries we do not have coupon What we have here is buy one take one Or sometimes specially for produce sections thereโs a lil groupie and bargaining is every where here

I used to use coupons, but three to five at a time. Now, coupons suck and not like they used to be.
