Why do they collect your personal information?, they do it ultimately so their corporation makes more money, for them to make money they have to get you to part with your hard earned money so who really benefits from reward cards?, they do and you don’t. You just think you do.

I feel like places like Coles and Woolworths are a couple of the highest priced grocery stores in Australia. They hold regular "specials" to seem like their items are heavily discounted when all they're doing is bringing it down from severely overpriced to fairly overpriced. The best way to save money on groceries in Oz is to go to family run stores. Family run stores are usually those little vegetable stores or discount butchers or international grocery stores which often have local produce and are half the price of Woolworths. As an example, I recently saw bananas for sale in coles at $4 p/kg, and at the markets for 99c p/kg. I understand some things aren't available at mum and pop stores but most other things can be found at Aldi, which is a lot cheaper and they're MSG free storewide.

Have you heard of shopback.com.au? It is like ebates in the US. I purchase my Woolworths online for delivery and always go through shopback first as they give 2.5% of your shop costs back.
