Everything in this haul was bought ON SALE, except for the Red Rose Tea Bags. ugh.
I combined sale items with manufactured coupons, e-coupons and in-store coupons. I also bought a lot of 10 for $10, 2 for $4, 2 for $5, 4 for $10 and 8 for $10 deals. My total would have been $50 less had I not bought so many goodies for Christmas Holiday…. but, hey, what can ya do. lol
I am a married stay-at-home-mom with 4 teenage boys and a 16 month old baby living on a tight budget.
I go to several stores, for my large “hauls”about ONCE A MONTH, on average….. Kroger, GFS to buy our bulk items, the butcher shop for all our meats, then usually the Farmer’s Market or our local farmer for our fruits and veggies when in season. I used to shop at Sam’s Club, but you can not save as much money in those stores, even when you buy in bulk. The trick is to buy on sale combined with a coupon of some type….either manufacture or e-coupon. It has become quite the challenge for me!

Have you considered buying bulk frozen veg and dehydrating it. It works great in soups and stews.

I think I fell into a sugar coma watching this. lol… This actually reminded me of my mom.. she had a SERIOUS sweet tooth. Once, she went to Walgreens to buy Easter candy and spent $75. (and none of it was intended for Easter Baskets.. . just to snack on ) hahahahahaha… of course we helped her eat it.. lol After all I am a good child. heh

This video just popped up in my videos so I watched it.. I seriously almost had a heart attack just watching all that junk food and processed food in this haul.. so glad to see that you guys don't eat like this anymore.. it makes me angry that it's cheaper to eat like this, than to eat healthy.. it should be the other way around.. kudos to you!

Noahs Ark says:

Since I eat fresh for frozen foods mainly, along with beans, lentils, etc. there are never coupons for these items. I will stock up if the frozen goes on a good sale. Sometimes yams do at Xmas time so I'll stock up and dehydrate them. Not much of a meat eater.

Pink Acid says:

thank you i dont know how e coupons work

i have a love hate relationship with food. I am a bachelor so my grocery bill is about 200 a month. For so long food was primarily for comfort, it had become an addiction to me. I gained a lot of weight eating potato chips which is my drug of choice, but i got quit cause i have gotten so fat from eating and not exercising that i don't even want to go outside anymore.  I can't imagine spending the kind of money you do on groceries. My dad who lived with just his wife would go to the store like 4 times a week. For two people he would spend like 1200 a month, he wound up throwing away half the food he cooked. When Hurrican Ike hit is in 2008 he told me he lost 1700 dollars worth of groceries, from the sound in his voice you think he had lost a limb. Thanks for the tips.

I love Noreen's kitchen and half acre homestead…Love shopping at Krogers… but the nearest one to me now is about 50 miles, so I don't get to shop there anymore.

OMBIC says:

I wish my dad would if anything open he's eyes to a system like this………..    I think I jumped the gun a little but here,  we just never get this lucky lol  🙂

PrivateEyeYiYi says:

I buy loose tea at an Oriental food store because it's far better quality.  Whole tea leaves, not "floor sweepings". Try the Oolong at 2.99 per can. Or the Gunpowder Green at 1,69 per box.  These are pretty foolproof

There are dozens of others.  Jasmine is good  if you're careful with the amount used and you keep the brewing time short.

Stay away from the Pu Ehr,  It's as bad as it sounds.

Want to save more money??? Run the cardboard from the packaging through your shredder and use as mulch….The cardboard keeps the moisture and nitrogen in your garden and is ice cream to the red worms that gives your plants antibiotics which commercial fertilizers do not offer…Also the cardboard is mulch from plants and the coloring is from soybeans. Also when you dig a hole for planting make an extra hole for the mulch. The red worms will turn this mulch into beautiful black soil within a year and the mulch acts like a sponge. On a hot day the water is released from this sponge and your plant is re-watered. You paid for the mulch…use it :))))))….Also save the seeds from your raw tomatoes and squash and anything else you eat….I also plant the lettuce roots as well as potatoes….Plant the potatoes 2 feet under the soil…This may render you 36 more potatoes….cover the potato greens which look like fern with more soil….The potatoes does not like direct sunlight. If there ever is an emergency and the stores are bought out, you just go to your garden…Stay away from processed foods as much as possible and use your rice maker and crock pot as often as you can. If you have left over bug infested flour, mix with water and water your plants….The red worm also likes this…..Left over sugar hardened or gone bad….no problem…soak in water until dissolved and water your plants….they love the sugar! Food and meat gone bad in summer….once again no problem….put in a gray Wal-Mart tub on a table away from animals and you WILL get grubs…Grubs make anything disgusting bio accessible for the red worm. When the Grub is ready to become …put a couple in a field to procreate and feed the rest to your chickens…high in protein….Then put the new grub free dirt and what else in your garden and the cycle starts over again…Don't waste anything. Everything can be reused. Most commercial fertilizers are uric acid and ammonia….no problem….if your husband takes vitamins and is healthy….have him pee on a tree…water well…You guys already have most of what you need…you just don't know it :)))))…Save juice bottles to store rice…put a couple bay leaves on top….stores neatly as well as keeps bugs out of the rice and easy to pour….Get as much bay leaves from the dollar store and literally plaster your pantry with them …bugs hate bay leaves…Use a hula hoop as a loom to make rugs out of your old clothing….

Wow, this makes me sort of sad. In my opinion, after seeing the entire video, the only edible items were a box of paprika powder and a box of some other sort of spice, and those two bags of lettuce …

I don't like to being judgmental, and i know that I must sound judgmental now, but this is not the way any human should be eating. Sorry. But there are better ways available.

If you want any help, advice, or help how to get advice … I'd be glad to help! But this is not a healthy way of feeding yourselves, or your children. Especially the kids. Again, I am sorry if I sound like an asshole who pretends to know it all, but really; please stop eating junk.
