I went out to DG today for my first time penny shopping and found a few lady's bilfold's that had yellow dot tags, got them and a couple other things. I got to register and the guy rang up the first yellow dot item and it was $7.50 regular price!!! I thought all yellow dot items were a penny? Now I'm really confused and scared to even try anymore.
Does anybody know if i can penny shop on a Wednesday or another day other than Tuesday???
can anybody explain to me why when stuff rings up for free at the Dollar General they automatically tell me they can't sell it to me and confiscate it instead of just giving it to me.

Couple questions. In your video you said an item cannot have a staple on the tag. What exactly do you mean by staple? Also, you mentioned :must haves" like on pink dot accessories. What are the must haves? Last question. It is now the end of November 2018. Can you do an updated video just like this one but with current dots/years to look for? If I find a yellow star on a toy with a F15 or older like F14, F13 etc, that would be a penny too? Sorry for the PS question lol. Thank you SO SO MUCH for doing this. I live on $40 a month and I just started this last week. Trying to get enough so I can celebrate Christmas with my kids and grandkids, So far I found some stocking stuffers. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!
The employees at our dollar General but the penny items themselves so no one else can buy them. They pull them and when their shift is over, they buy them .
Christa, I also wanted to share that some of the yellow dot items did not ring up a penny because it was a yellow dot sticker and not a printed yellow dot on the tag and the manager shared with me that some employees does that to be slick for something crooked they're trying to pull so, if you see stickers instead of the actual printed dot on the tag then it's probably not going to ring up a penny.
Hi Christa! I just wanted to share with you that I went to a DG on 11/21/18 & I had found several yellow dot accessories and this was maybe two hour before closing time and they had the clothing section blocked off to take all of the yellow dots off the racks because the employee told me it was blocked because they had to take those items away so, I said okay then when I went to the register, all of my items had started to ring up a penny and some didn't so the cashier lied and said he was the manager and he couldn't sell me those items so I asked to see the policy and he didn't know what I was talking about so I told him to let me pay for what he had rung up then I was going to call corporate to see why he wouldn't sell me the items and he threw all the merchandise that was still on the counter back into my cart he let me pay for the penny items he had already rang up but wouldn't ring up the rest and corporate apologized to me for what I was going through and took my name and number and asked for the store number and the name of the employee that had taken care of me so, while talking to corporate another lady came up and asked what was the problem and informed me that the cashier is a team leader not a manager and that she was the actual manager and she allowed another employee to continue to ring me up and told the other cashier her last day was coming up soon so she didn't care if he rung up the penny items and corporate did call me two days later and apologized and said that they were going to address the employee that was lying to me and rude but that's all they did but, I was just happy that they even called me back. I was not sure at first if I should have called corporate but that guy was extremely rude to me in front of a ton of other customers.

So, are all items with a PINK DOT, no staple and an older year considered PENNY ITEMS, or are the other colored dots that are penny items as well?

Today i asked a price of some gain febreeze laundry detergent and it said discontinued whrn she scanned it but then saw it was clearance for 3.50.none of the items were marked clearance nor did they havr a price for thwm.how long do you typically go from clearance to penny

Today I walked into a dg and said hey I need to know about the penny items. The manager said yes absolutely they exist. I try really hard to stay on top of it. I didn’t want to push her so I walked away. 5 minutes later am employee came up to me and whispered don’t tell her I told you but you have to go to the nasty messy unorganized stores… you’ll find loads of penny items! Sadly I will have to drive an hour away but I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!

* Is it created after someone has gone into a store looking for the items marked with a star, pink dot, etc.,?
I believe items go to a penny on Tuesday because a new shipment comes in on Tuesday…..at least that's what happens in my city and the surrounding ones.
