Evolving Retail Coupons with The Coupon Bureau and Hedera Hashgraph
Each year there is over $100M in coupon fraud in the United States. To combat this the retail industry, in conjunction with The Coupon Bureau, have looked to blockchain and distributed ledgers. Coming online in February of 2021, The Coupon Bureau introduced a new industry coupon type, the AI (8112) GS1 standard. The new standard uses Hedera to manage immutable and verifiable coupon records between retailers, manufacturers, point-of-sale systems, and clearinghouses.
