UPDATE – More Game Performance Videos are coming on the GTX 1080 TI. Some are already included in my first video "Which Should You Buy?", linked below, more are scheduled this week.

The first video coming soon is going to be Ghost Recon Wildlands, tested on Ryzen 7 1700X with 1080p, 1440p, and 2160p results at multiple detail settings, to show you what is possible with the GTX 1080 TI.

Future videos will show the 1080 TI compared to the GTX 1080 & GTX 1070, to show what you really get for the extra money. Vega will also be covered when it launches later this summer.

As noted in the video, I've also tested 780 TI vs 980 TI vs 1080 TI, but have not published those videos yet, they also will be coming soon, I simply need to edit and voice them over, but the benchmarks are done.

Steve St-denis says:

man i need help 🙁 i bought a 3 month old 1080 ti evga…. man on passmark test i got beated by a 970 gtx…. how can i test my gpu to know if there is a problem or its the bottle ecking with the old fx 8350 or moba/ram…. man im scared

javier migoya says:

I do think that this generation has broken the trend a little in terms of bigger performance jump and almost doubling the Video Ram at 11GB which is just crazy, with the current Tech jumps we've seen in the last few years I don't foresee needing another video card for 4k gaming on 1 monitor for at least 3 years, 1080 ti cards any one of them even the slowest can probably game at 8k in med settings at acceptable FPS which is over 30 FPS, keep in mind it wasn't too long ago when 30 FPS was the magical number, then 60 FPS and then sky's was the limit 200+ which is absolutely useless, I game on a G-Sync 165Hz monitor and really anything over 60 to 75 it's no longer that noticeable, it was noticeable when we went from 30 to 60, that was night and day smooth

Gaming With Pyro says:

cmoneytheman says:

He was wrong on 2 things he said regular 1440 is closer to 1080 no it not its close to semi 4k thats the wide ver and he said this will be outdated on a year no it wont

Simion Dolha says:

Hello. Nice review. Should I buy EVGA 1080 Ti SC black (719 Euro) or Gigabyte 1080 Ti Gaming OC (675 Euro). The difference in price is 50 euro with EVGA being more expensive. Thanks

Sonny Fellers says:

I'm about to get my son a 27" 144hz 1080p monitor (most likely Asus) for his i5-4590 with gtx 1060 6gb. I figure the rebuild for the cpu, motherboard, AND ram will be coming by 2019 to a coffeelake or maybe icelake or tigerlake by then. What I am wondering is should I get the gtx 1080 asap after the monitor or should I save for the ti because it might last longer in new system? He plans to add 2 more monitors after rig is capable lol.

Markinpuff says:

good video!! I would like to ask you some questions, do you do donations for 15 min phone call.

kreepthedestroyer says:

i have one and it fucking rocks its mean as. super happy with it. just get one

UnNamed Beast says:

good content. very clear

Ezil Kannan says:

While I agree to most of what you said, I do not think this card will be anything like how the 780Ti became after 3 years, I believe this would last a little longer than that. Considering Volta might not be coming out until late 2018 or even mid 2019, this can last quite a while before having to upgrade even in 1440p. I don't think any entry level Volta or the gen after that to be able to match this performance level at 1440p.

Shadow Blade says:

great! i have two!

Nick Sander says:

holy shit. i watched at least 50 different videos about building PCs and what GPU to buy. I had only found you first I wouldve got everything i needed before I make my choice. Thank you. BTW, You could probably be a major cable network news reporter, seriously, lol.

TheoremUKChannel says:

i want this ASUS 1080 ti for my build and i cant find one anywhere. only 2nd hand ones on ebay that no doubt been trashed

Simon Huang says:

I got the 1080ti recently because the asus rog strix was on sale and its only $300 more than our 1070s here in Aus. So I thought, why not.

Swiftowl7 Gaming says:

Jason Davis says:

before i got my 1080 ti, i had 2x 780 in sli and they handled 4k well. I believe in you strategy when it comes to buying the best in to future proofing mate. As i bought the 780's 6 yrs before i had to upgrade to a single 1080ti…WOW.

George konsta says:

what if i buy the 1080 now?? for 1440p 144hz 16:9 monitor. will it last for 2 years? and is the 1080 ti an overkill? consider that the 1080 cost about 630 euros atm in my country and the 1080 ti abot 850 euros. ☺☺☺

heller alcatraz says:

Hello mr tech deals, I do purchase a Zotac AMP 1080 ti for upgrade from GTX 970 SLI for my new 4k monitor gaming. I still pair it with my current i5 4690k OC to 4.4Ghz. Do you think that this will cause bottleneck in which I have to upgrade? If so, should I upgrade to a new latest processor or wait until Intel release their next 10nm processor? Use the rig solely for gaming, no video editing or multi-threaded software will be done on my rig

Man, you're my new favorite reviewer ! Thank you so much. I admire your professionalism ! No silly jokes whatsoever ! My time spent watching a video really finds value in your hands. Keep it up !

Ben R. says:

You can't play a lot of games in 4K with a 1080 ti at high settings 60 fps. I just bought a 1080 ti to play on a 1080p monitor upscaled in 2k at 60fps. I have purchased monitors in the 500$ range and haven't found one to beat my Benq VA 27 in monitor for gaming. I know it sounds crazy but it's true. I'm sticking with this monitor until I can find one in a store instead of buying one online and having to send it back again. I don't see a difference at all from 2k upscaled on a 1080p monitor than a 2k monitor.
